Buying Tires from Tire Rack - Need help

Was searching on Tire Rack.com for some new tires to replace my aging hankooks V12 and found out that Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires now have tires in a perfect size (27.4" diameter) that i have always wanted 265/40/19 on all 4 corners on my 19x9 BLack brembo rims. Now my question is some of these tires have car names next to the sizes. Whats the difference? any problems??

Size: 265/40ZR19 <---The ones i want
BMW

Size: 265/35ZR19
Mercedes

I wonder if thay are just stating that those cars come stock with those tires. They will work on your car.

If I remember correctly it means, like Genn above mentioned, that the tires comes stock on those cars and also that in some cases the tires has been slightly modified to meet the requirements set by the car manufacturer. For example BMW may want higher speed rating, softer or harder compound etc... Yes you can use those tires on your Mustang.

Those tires are manufacturer spec'd tires, made originally for a specific car.

Of course the German spec tires may reject your puny cheap American car...

Ok i called Tire Rack today and did some research - the ONLY difference between these OE spec BMW tires is the Tread Depth - which is 9/32" while a normal one would be 10/32" i guess. Other than that they are spec'd the same, 10.7" width, 27.4" diameter etc - they will FIT. The guy told me that usually they are only aloud to ship to BMW owners ONLY but he wasnt giving the word yet (there new to the system) so he was able to ship until he gets the word.

Tires are only 25lbs too, my Hankooks were 29lbs, so these are saving me 16lbs of wheel weight which is damm nice plus there Taller and Wider and assymetric so i can do proper rotations.
