I know its not a popular viewpoint, however, the current V-6 is pretty much everything the outgoing 2005-2009 GT was (I know its not a V-8, still it should perform as well or close enough that there is no notable difference) and it should come it at around that $26,000 mark.

Pricing a new GT with the same options as my current 2006 (well as close as possible), the price difference is exactly $4,986. For that extra $5000 the new GT has leather (mine is a standard and I actually prefer the cloth seats), a much improved interior, a much much improved suspension and the new 5.0 engine, which seems, at least to me, to be about what would have been paid back in 2006 if all these thing had been offered as options and each had been selected.

I guess what I am getting at is that simply looking at the price differences between years may make it seem that there is a huge price increase, however when taking into acct the improvements, Ford seems to have done a pretty good job of holding the line on what they are providing for what they are charging.

Oh and on a side note: I am really dissapointed that the brembo option is not available with the automatic, though not being able to get it will save quite a bit it would still be nice to have it as one of the few additions to the base premium.

Yup. If a person can't afford a new GT, they can get a 2011 V6 and still have a very fun car, one that puts most V8 pony cars from a decade ago to shame. The same can be said for the new V6 Camaro, too. I don't picture a V6 Challenger being that much fun, though. Not a great power to weight ratio and no manual transmission.

What's even cooler is hopefully 10-15 years from now we'll all be looking back at this release and having a chuckle kinda like we are now...

I kinda need the nav, I get lost easily and I want something integrated into the car. Besides, it has HD Radio...

FYI if you don't use a GPS that often SYNC does turn by turn directions. Starting in 2010 all Premium cars have a built in GPS.

I can't get the 19X8.5" luster nickel wheels with the Brembos, right?

Then you need to spend the $2K. I have tested the sync nav feature and it works very well and includes real time traffic as well.

Okay, removed the rearview camera, and got the price down to $39,640. cars.com is showing the invoice at $36,289. I wonder if I can negotiate a price under $38K, that would be good.

Well, I have a wheel choice. Late Model Restoration says that their 18" SVE wheels will clear the Brembos. http://www.mylrs.com/blogs/lrs/archi...-test-car.aspx
