Embargo Timezone

Why is there an embargo on releasing a test drive information in the first place!?
I mean, I can understand Ford with holding engine specs and modifications. But now that it's well known why do car reports have an embargo on when they can release the info? Who delegates that reasoning and what are the implications of early release? I just don't see why March 29th as opposed to March 28th... or something... is "the day"...
Tho if Ford really does have 450 HP the car mags should release the information on April 1st.
