Build, Delivered VIN Sequence

Your dealer can actually track their orders with the same info JonnyB gets. Trick is most dealerships reserve that database access privilege for only their inventory manager. My guy just requests an update from that guy every so often and (eventually) the manager comes back with a (rough) estimate of when the car will arrive.

Got a call from my dealer yesterday...my car is in Texas. It arrived in San Antonio and will be trucked up to Austin somewhere between today and next Tuesday...which was my ETA.

window sticker came up today for build next week Monday 14th
Dealer ETA 04 July
I'm only two hours from the plant so maybe I'll even have it sooner, My dealer said the ETA is +/- 5 days usually. It would be sweet to have him for the long weekend.
The local Camaro's and Ricers better look out
Its a GT500 FYI

FINALLY!! A status update yesterday:
Awaiting Shipment Origin Received - Mf47 (Autoport Limited ) Ramp 5P, Flat Rock, MI Jun-08-2010, 11:05 ET
How long can I expect from Ramp5p to delivery?
The funny thing about this status update is that I called my dealership at 3pm to check for any changes. My dealer looked it up along with the sales manager and the both said "Looks like there's no change, it's still Awaiting Shipment." I didn't realize they were reading "Awaiting Shipment" off the most recent status and that they didn't realize that this was a brand new status from hours earlier. It had been "In Transit Received" until then. I found out because JonnyB gave me my first message in weeks and it was different from all the others. I can't believe that I had to call my dealership back and tell them that the status update had changed. They looked at it and said "No, nothing has changed are you sure your online source is reliable?" I told them to look at the date of the most recent status and they said "Well I'll be damned, that's today!"

It's hard to say, but it's a good sign, and it should be the final hurdle. If your car makes it to IN TRANSIT, you should have it in about a week to a week and a half, depending on how far it has to travel. Be cautious though, as with the QC checks ongoing there's still a chance that they'll pull it back, that's what happened to my car. My car hit Ramp 5P and sat there for two weeks before it got pulled offsite for what I assume was a QC Fail in something.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Noooo don't tell me that. I just assumed my car was about to head out.
Although it WAS built on Jun-3, so you'd think they would check/fix it on the line, not retroactively.

I'd really like to see you get yours by your ETA, it would make me feel really good about getting mine! So good luck and think happy thoughts damnit!!!

They would yes, if they've identified the exact problem and corrected it (rather than the "wait and see" we've been having with clutches). There's a strong possibility that by now though they have, and even if not, your car can still pass QC. Coffeejolt's car was built the same day as mine with similar options and a VIN that was only 5 off and his passed QC and is now in transit.

I am sure every case is different, but mine was moved from ramp 51 to 5P with the exact same status on 5/11 - still no car yet

Does anyone know if Detroit ships to the East Coast (Virginia) using only convoy or also rail? I did research and found out that "United Road" is a car-shipping company that uses trucks and they often deliver stuff to the East Coast. If I'm lucky maybe the United Road from my latest status update will take it directly to VA and not deal with rail BS.

No way they can QC everything on the line. In theory they want to but its more of a self insect since you cant put an actual QC rep by each post. And dont get me started on self inspections......Being from QC I know how that goes. If you dont give a crap/dont know what your building while you build it you aint magically goint to change your mind when you "self inspect" it . So in other words we are playing off the honor system and then QC has to come in and check as much as they can afterwards.
