Brick Red Leather Interior & Security Package

I don't mind at all. I purchased mine from Percy Stepp at Mall of Georgia Ford. I cannot recommend him and the dealership enough, especially if you are ordering. This guy knows how to do it right. I got my VIN two days after ordering, and he sent me status updates every week. Each update included a pdf copy of the data in Ford's vehicle visibility system along with a hand written note explaining everything in plain English.
On delivery day, he made sure the car was left untouched so that I could take pictures of it. Then he helped me carefully remove all of the shipping stuff (plastic wrap, foam, bar codes, etc) and package it up for preservation. He put one of those giant dealership posters for the 5.0 in the trunk for me, then took it down for prep.
While we were waiting for the car to be cleaned and checked, a repeat customer came in to buy a new car and asked for my salesperson. Most salespeople would have taken the customer and left me; after all, he'd already earned my commission. Percy went out to the customer, explained that he was with me right now, and asked if they minded waiting until my car came back from prep. THAT is customer service.
I'm going to be writing up a letter to Mark Fields and Alan Mullaly about my experience. It was that good.

Thanks for the information!!

Another cool thing about brick red interior is that it's not a popular choice. Obviously, that can be viewed from both sides but every time I see one, which is not often, I hurry over to see it. I searched several dealers in Georgia, and found just a couple with brick red. I'd love to see a percentage of GT's with brick red; I'd guess under 5%. It's almost like I'm making a case against it here, lol.

White and red is working its way from limbo to me.
Black and red is another good combo.
I've never had to wait this long for an american car. I hope its worth the wait.
It will be GREAT to be faster than the wife again! (She won't be happy, again.)

That is fantastic service. I am about to order through Chestate in Dahlonega. Of all the local dealers that I have talked to he has been the only one that has been truly knowledgeable about the car. The salesperson has owned 6 mustangs and genuinely seems interested in helping me whether I purchase it from him or not. Very similar to the dealers on this forum that have been so helpful to all. He has answered all of my questions very quickly and has given me the best price at $250 over invoice.
Two questions for you: Who's your salesman, and do you want to hear my experience?

That price is exactly what I paid (well, 150 under invoice plus a 400 dealer service fee). I sense a pattern in what Chestatee offers people. Yeah, they're my dealer too. My sales guy told me I was his first retail order in 5 years.

Very Nice! That is very similar to what I want to order. Please post pictures when it arrives.

Now I didn't get too many updates myself, though if it missed an ETA they were pretty quick to e-mail me (without me having to e-mail them first, importantly) saying they were looking into it, and I usually got an update within a day. This I ultimately inferred had more to do with only one guy having access to tracking, and I've occasionally had delays on updates because he was busy with customers. I didn't bug them too much, I usually just dialed Ford CS once a week for an update and eventually got my VIN and build date from them, then my sticker by knowing what sites to pull up, and so on.
Can't comment on taking delivery yet, but it should be there in a few days (I want Coffeejolts' poster ).
Pretty content overall, good price, order went in without a hitch, and they seemed to keep track of making sure it was progressing smoothly. I would have liked the Vehicle Visibility updates, as having JonnyB's updates were enlightening, particularly the offsite bits, but hey, maybe you can just ask for them.

Love the Brick Red, having it coming in my GT vert next week. Have friends with a black vert with Brick and it is great ! I've had too many black cars, though, and would rather drive than clean...so I'm getting Race Red. The Brick is much more subtle than the RR exterior and IMO looks great with it. I've seen 2 red coupes with Brick interior, looked very good. I also live in GA, but up by the NC line. Don't need security here...hell, we hardly need locks. But I'm a retired cop, worked auto theft for 7 years, and if I lived where you do, I would probably go for the security package. Not at the expense of Comfort, though, need those heated seats and the 6 way power passenger seat. I'd forego the electronics package, since I'm old and don't care for gadgets. Got that in my wife's Lincoln and don't like it. Getting a TomTom for the GT.....$200 vs $2000

Huh, my sales guy is Andy Conger. He was more their truck guy he told me, and apparently dealt with USAA Car Buying service requests too. Interesting. Anyway with my sales guy I was his first retail order in five years, he usually found cars on lots. Nice guy, no games, just a straight up deal. When I went to order he gave me a print out of the Vehicle Order Confirmation with everything on it, even the Dealer Invoice price (My sheet said it was a stock order, but he did take a copy of my license, so maybe they did ROV after. Priority 10, had the Order# and Dealer ID on it). Signed off on the price, paid a $1000 deposit, which was a little hefty, but I didn't mind.

What are the vehicle visibility updates? I have not heard about them.

Basically what Coffeejolts was talking about. Ford has a database where they post stuff to keep track of orders, and Dealers have accounts which can view it, but usually limited to inventory manager. It gives production dates and times and when it reaches each step of the process, and also rail car numbers and what ramps it goes to.

Thanks for everyone's opinions and advice. I just placed my order. Black 2011 Mustang GT premium, 6 speed manual, 401A with brick red leather, 3:73 gears, brembo package, electronics package, security package, comfort package and spoiler delete with dealer ordered and installed pedestal spoiler.
