I did my first oil change at 2300 miles and now use Mobil 1 extended performance fully synthetic , 5W 30 blend.

Oil life monitor must not have been set correctly or wasn't reset from the previous oil change

I was thinking the same thing because the oil life monitor has to be set manually every time after one changes the oil.
