Brake Grab
Brake Grab
So I'm on my way to work today and as I started out from a light my front driver side brake started grabbing. I know it was a problem with the ABS because it would pulse. It would grab for about a second then let go for about a second, then grab and let go. I let out of the gas and started slowing down. When I got to about 25mph it quit. I gradually increased speed and it didn't repeat but it was a definite glitch in the ABS on one wheel only. Anyone ever have this happen to them. I'm going to have the dealership take a once over and look at it tomorrow.

Was the Traction Control light flashing? Had it rained or was the road wet?
This has happened to me twice, both times after going up a wet on ramp and then it started after I got on the dry freeway.

Dry road, no traction control light and no ABS warning light. That was the first thing I was looking for too. It's a mystery. I'm taking it by the dealership in the morning for a once over.

I'd take it in, but that doesn't sound like ABS, ABS comes in at fractions of a second, not 1 second on 1 second off, probably like someone else said it was a TC issue.
Thanks Deysha, just got back from the dealership. They had the shop foreman ride in the car with me and of course it hasn't replicated the problem. It only happened that one time. They checked their database for any historical reference to a similar problem. Nothing found. We think it was probably just wheel slip that caused the ABS to glitch up for a moment. If it happens again I'll go back to the dealership and have a more thorough check into it started.
