No lol, but unfortunately the "sky is falling syndrome" is very powerful on these boards

Congrats on the new tranny though. Even if I think it's unnecessary it's still a cool performance mod

I see it as a waste. It sounds like you started seeing problems and decided a knee-jerk reaction was best. Did you take it to a good dealer and have it looked at? If not, best of luck. People are grossly making the MT82 issue bigger than it actually is.

Agreed with the previous two posters, completely.

Why didn't you wait until the warranty period was over before doing this? You didn't even have any significant problems!

Now your entire Ford warranty is FUBAR, there isn't a dealership in the country that is going to perform warranty work on that thing. Ill advised and premature, regardless of how good a deal you got.

But, it's yours, so enjoy and I wish you the best.

It certainly sounds like the warranty issue is irrelevant since Ford is refusing to take responsibility anyway. I have actually done a 180 here. If you MUST own a Mustang now, I agree with this guy has done.

What do you mean very aggressive 5th? You mean more than 1:1? That's going to be a heck of a drop off going from 5th to 6th.

I don't see what the problem is. The way I see it is the same as someone putting a turbo/supercharger on a brand new car or adding a CAI+Tune or upgrading to a Torsen differential, etc.... Obviously people doing that take a risk but they do it because they enjoy the car more after the upgrade. If changing the transmission makes him sleep at night and he has the $$$$ to do it I say good for him.

You sir are a thousand percent correct. I know that some folks are having problems but in reality the problems are much smaller than you would believe by reading the tranny thread over at allfordmustangs. I have one and my wife has one and we have yet to see a transmission problem. It seems to be just 2 or 3 folks that are really pushing "the sky is falling issue".

If mine start to give me problems I'll head over to Ford. If that does not work out then I might do what the OP did. But I gotta go with Ford first!

Why did Ford decide to put the TR6060 in the 2012 Boss 302R and NOT the MT82?
The MT82 is already at it's safe design limit. It's rated at 383TQ and I'm modding my car.
2012 5.0 "updated clutch assembly" LMAO I thought that was a fix
I have CAI and Brenspeed/Steeda tune, 3.73 , Stainless Works 1 7/8 LT with catted x pipe and catbacks and Mickey Thompson drag radials.
What do you think a Ford dealer would say when I pull in with my car? Flag my vin for abuse? Void my warranty?Give me the fluid swap?
People have been taking their MT82 Mustang in for a year now and still no fix in sight. EVEN if Ford can fix it...THE WARRANTY ISN'T helping anyone with the trans issue. In the near future when I decide to Vortech SC my car I'll have over 630WHP and about 600TQ. This TR6060 can handle 1K.I was stuck at a green light last night when I couldn't get into first. The trans whines even more now (sounds awesome really)

I'm getting an awesome deal... a deal that I can only get now on the parts I listed above with under $400 for the install... Why pass on this offer?

As always I appreciate everyones input. Sorry, if my post sounds a little rude...It isn't my intention.

I'm off work tomorrow... Do you guys want me to take my car to a Ford dealership? I live in Dearborn MI there's about 10 Ford dealerships within a 10 mile radious of my house. DEYSHA I think is in Dearborn too.If she wants she can come with me to the dealer w/out her Ford badge and see the crap they'll sprout. I mean, no reason to deny me service on the trans they know is having issues right? lol. Nice experiment :P

Thank you.

Also, I knew before I bought it that I may have an issue with it so I though WORST case scenario $3K. The engine is AMAZING the car is AMAZING it's worth EVERY penny spent on it. I'm 24 and this is my 4th Mustang 05,07,10,12 GT's. I live and breathe MUSTANGS.. I AM a MUSTANG. I wasn't going to let an MT82 issue stand in the way. Even though I'm very pissed at Ford and they don't deserve anymore business.
Plus I can still sell all my stock parts. I have about 4k miles on my car right now. I wonder if those stock parts are sellable?

You can be at about 170MPH at the end of 5th.

Well that all depends on hp, final drive, aerodynamics, etc. I meant what gear ratio is 5th to be very aggressive.

Sorry I'm not sure. I'll ask.

W/ 515WHP 4.10's and the exact TR6060 a friend of mine was at 170MPH at the end of 5th.

If you live in Dearborn, take the car to Village Ford and see what they tell you. I highly doubt they'll give you some BS. If they fix the trans and you put your 6060 in, that's another story. Give a reputable dealer a chance to look at it before jumping ship.

There are people on the boards who have road raced the snot out of these cars and haven't had the issues that mildly street driven MT82s have had. That's the part I find really funny about it all. I think if we had all the facts about the total number of clutches and transmissions replaced under warranty, it wouldn't be as bad as the forums have made it out to be.

I don't see how thats possible, a Non-overdrive gear, so 1:1 or shorter, running 4.10's and getting to 170mph in that gear. Even with a tall tire you'd need to rev the engine out to almost 9000rpm...

This is what I was told. He doesn't have the stock block but his car definitely doesn't rev to 9,000 RPM lol!

He does flat 11 with some traction issues.
I'll text him in a second and ask if he knows what the ratio is for 5th.
