He was very exasperated and said "what, you want me to fix the whole car?" (I had sent it back to detail twice because it was covered in spots and had a sticky substance on the hood/roof.) I said "if that's what it takes, it is not unreasonable to expect my body panels to be aligned. This isn't a mid-80s GM product." He didn't get the GM reference. Either way, he says he'll do what he can.

I can't think of any reason why a body shop couldn't correct the decklid. Have any of you had to have body panels adjusted?
I had to have adjustments made to my '08 Fusion and '10 Taurus. Both times were disappointing, because what's 'good enough' to the body shop isn't really very good. Mine were both very simple adjustments, but you'd think I'd asked them to repaint the whole car.

Ran without a front plate on my 335i for 2 years with no issues at all. If I get a ticket, I'll get a no drill plate holder or stick it in the windshield.

I ask because last I looked, the actual law doesn't really specify WHERE the front plate is to be attached, but it does require it be displayed. Don't know for sure, but I'd think that would be a 'primary' vilolation, and the only excuse needed to pull you over. I suspect every single DPS trooper would write a citation for no front plate... and if it's not a primary, they'd find another reason to stop you and throw that in.

Just bought one myself, have yet to install it, might just carry and have it handy.
