Best way to make a GT drive more like a Boss 302?
That's funny, the Ford racing dealer I bought them from listed them as Laguna Seca wheels, and that's what the box says...
So I looked at the LS wheel I saw last fall on a black LS, yes, they are grey. But Ford Racing is selling the black ones as 'LS' wheels also. At least I didn't say I had OEM LS wheels. Either way, I like black. I had the red 12 versions in my 12 Boss at track attack and it was a little too much for me.

The Boss is a special car, to be sure. I love to see them on the road, and at the track. I really wanted one. But wifey wanted leather, Sync, power/heated seats, etc. So we got a 2011 GT Premium. I knew I wanted to track it a few days a year. I went to a DE event, bone stock, to learn the limits of the car, and to see what I wanted to change. I added the following: Eibach Pro-System-Plus-Kit (springs, dampers, sway bars), BMR adjustable PHB, Ford Racing GT500 forged wheels, Ford Racing SVT Brembo brakes, Goodridge steel lines. Car runs amazing at the track now. At the Mustang 50th Anniversary at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, I participated in their track event. My car hung with and passed several Boss and Boss LS cars, no problem. For Brandon302 & 5.Monster - the Coyote motor does have forged connecting rods and a forged crank...very strong, the motor can take it.
Now I'm also wondering what the difference is between Aluminator with forged internals, and the Road Runner. Are they the same other than Intake manifold?

Ford Racing website shows the black as 302S and the charcoal...just sayin'..
I'll leave it alone now...

Thanks for the info Pete, I thought we did but I wasn't sure. So what else is forged one the RoadRunner in the Boss cars? Cylinder heads, Manley H beams and cam shafts?

My pleasure. Now your asking questions way above my pay-grade! Here's what I found on the inter-web:
ROADRUNNER:

ALUMINATOR:

Where do they sell these Boss 302S wheels in anything but black with the machined spokes? I know of the Wheel Replica's version of it but it would sure be nice to have a real wheel from Ford. I see in the pic that ace72ace posted that it has the factory center cap.
No offence to the Boss owners but. Its the same car aside from a few factory upgrades from Ford. With all the aftermarket parts available i plan on biulding my GT to pull some big numbers on the latteral G's scale lol. You can easily biuld a GT that will Handle like a Boss. I myself would have to downgrade my suspention hahaha!

I could have ordered this kit, but the 302S with Black was on sale for 728$ during the summer, so I went that route. My boxes say GLOSS BLACK "12 MUST 10", not Laguna Seca, must have got them confused. Either way, they could say Sesame Street, and I would have bought them, exactly the look I wanted. I dig the tribar pony center caps too, matches the nose and trunk.

I like the 2013 Boss LS wheels very much. Black or grey, both look sharp IMO. For those looking at this set, my advise is to try to get the 10" wide for the rears, with 285s.
