Best Tires
I'm planning on changing my wheels very soon but I'm wondering what the best tires would be. I don't track my car and it only gets driven on the weekends. I like to drive it aggressively sometimes when I do. I'd like 275s all around. Any opinions?

"Best" depends on your intentions. What do you mean by "drive it aggressively"? Accelerate in straight line? Clip corners?

Just a head's up on Falkens, I had a friend at a dealer tell me that they've been having problems with them lately. A lot of people claiming the tires pull to one side or another. I myself have gone through 3 sets of Falken Ziex-912's, and my current set seems to pull to one side. Had it alligned and balanced and all that jazz. Same setup with some Bridgestone Potenzas drives straight, so I've narrowed it down to the tire. This is on a Mitsubishi but a tire is a tire.

How much tire life do you expect to get out of them? Have you ever shopped at Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com)?

To me, once you get to 20" and above with these tires is that some are speed rated at (Y) and some are Z speed rated which means 149+ MPH. Kind of goofy in my opinion because every single other tire is speed rated at (Y). I've always found the Z speed rating a littler different but that's just me.

It is my understanding that the treadwear rating was an indicator of how long they would last, not stiffness of the sidewall. I thought sidewall stiffness was related to its height.

I just want to say "Hi, I'm the new guy!".
I figured I'd toss in my 2cents.
This article is over a year old, but it has a pretty nice list of tires that were tested...
