Battery died!

My battery died after only 6 months. I managed to get it started and to the dealer where they confirmed that the battery was bad. They replaced the battery in about 20 minutes. Total time at dealer was about 30 minutes. Great job guys! But, I'm still concerned about this. I think Ford might have defective batteries in all their Mustangs. I think everybody might want to rush down to their dealer and get theirs checked and if Ford does not replace it then file a NHTSA complaint! Or maybe even Lemon law it....why do you think that Ford is trying to cover this epidemic up?

My car did this like pretty soon after I bought it. No idea when it was. I just started out to run my daily errands, turned the key & didn't even get a click!! I'm not mechanically inclined anymore, so I was afraid to really start messing w/it. I took my dad's truck to my mech's. He said he'd just come to me when he got a chance. I waited till like an hour before he closed, not came yet. I just got my jumper cables out if my trunk, jumped it off w/that's truck. It fired right off! I then drove it to recharge the battery. I hasn't had the slightest issue since! Maybe my car just had a bad morning?

Bought car on 10/4/10, 2-3 mths used. My issue was on 3/23/11.

This was an issue on the 2007 models. I had to buy a battery maintainer and plug it up when she was parked for more then a few days. Many people thought it was the amplifier for the stereo or the active anti-theft system. I have no idea, since the maintainer worked like a charm, and I never bothered to get the dealer involved. The less dealer time I have, the better life is.

I think it is the evil 1-4 skip shift always waiting to engage that is draining the battery. I have also heard rumor from a Camaro owner that trolls this forum that his Chevy dealer told him that the TracKey release would cure this battery problem for the Boss owners. TracKey is being held up by CARB because the head of that agency owns a Shelby and he is so jealous he does not want to see the Boss get a performance boost.

The batteries are made in China just like the MT-82 so there is the problem right there!!

Youre right, my friend went to the Ford Dealership to purchase a 5.0 and all the batteries were dead in the manuals so he went and bought a Camaro. I've been waiting over a year now for a fix from Ford and NOTHING. They've swapped my battery 15 times!

I think it's just a matter of luck. Fords put 3 new batteries in my wife's Expedition in 4 years. All of them under warranty. All of them with a bad cell.

My first '07 Mustang battery was also replaced.

Motorcraft FTW!
