I changed my vert to 3.73, but not before checking with an authorized Ford Racing dealership. They said there are no issuse. Ford is just being over cautious.

 

Im happy with my 3.31. The car is a daily driver, still fun on the drag strip, plan on taking it to a road course and my wallet was happy when i drove it cross country

 

hey guys, I am looking into a 2013 gt premium and the window sticker does not have the axle promo discount listed on it and it does not specify on the sticker what the ratio is. Does this mean it has the 3.55 gears or possibly 3.73 ? If so, how do I tell ? Thanks, Vic

 

Not all window stickers will have this "axle promo discount" listed, 3.73's or 3.55's will be listed and if not you can assume the car has the standard 3.31's.

 

Steve, thanks very much for the info. looks like I might have to get one with the track pack so I can get the 3.73's.

 

I don't think you have to get the track pack to get the 3.73's, When I got my 13' about 9 months ago, they only had 3 on the lot. One was a black base level that was a stick with the 3.73's. I dorve it, but my better half didn't want me to get the stick...:-(

 

That is correct, however to get the Torsen 3.73 rear end, you must get the track pack.

 

I just joined the forum tonight and have a question. i am buying a 2013 base 6-speed GT tomorrow with 3.31 standard gear. how much real world 'street' performance difference is there from the 3.31 to 3.73? i have an opportunity for a 3.73 gear 2014 but the deal on the 2013 is just to good to pass up. thanks in advance...bob

 

The gears arnt a deal breaker, you can always change them out later. If you've found a great deal, stick with it.
