Awesome dealer experience today

I had an appointment today for a test drive at a local dealer, with their salesman who specializes in Mustangs. He was recommended by my Mustang club. It actually turned into a 3 hour demonstration, not only of the car, but also of the ordering process including Smart Vincent, Vehicle Visibility, and Priority Codes. This guy really knew his stuff, even going into detail on the Ti-VCT. Then he took me for a ride in a Sterling Gray/Black 401A Brembo 3.73 car. It's safe to say he demonstrated the engine, brakes, and the suspension very well. Then it was my turn behind the wheel. First, I couldn't believe how light the clutch was, and caught me off guard a few times downshifting. The ergonomics behind the wheel are amazing. This car is fast, period. I was more than happy with the car's performance. After returning to the dealership, he went into detail on the Sync system, which I just find amazing. He showed me how to sync my iPhone, make calls, and even play Pandora internet radio. This is really a premium vehicle. I want a Job 2 car, so as soon as the order banks open, he will let me know. As a demonstration to me, he even tried to order a Yellow Blaze car (which I'm not getting), but the system wouldn't allow it yet. It said something like "Not available until Job 2." I have never had an experience like this from any salesman; it was quite refreshing!

WOW. That's incredible. I have to drag salesman through the mud here to get answers like that.

Sounds almost exactly like what Jeff did for me. Hope he gives you a similar price, too. Nice job finding a winner.

I'm glad you had a great experience. It seems like the big Atlanta dealers know how to take care of Mustang buyers.

Good question, paranoia really. It makes me feel better to let the new model "growing pains" pass first.

Nice! Would've liked that sort of demonstration myself, but I'm quite content with it. The buying experience was simple and, amazingly, they didn't keep me there long. Less than an hour, including the test drive, and it was all done. The hilarious part is he looked around and thought "Huh, well I guess that's everything, I think you're all set" in that manner that suggests "Aren't I forgetting something?" I then mentioned I hadn't given him the 5-digit down payment check yet.

Very pleasant process and, OH MY GOD, THE CAR. It blows away my old V6 in every conceivable way.

You will love it.
