No V6 owners have contacted me yet.

My premium interior GT (Canadian edition) does not have the Sport mode. Advance Track all on or all off only. Which is probably the way you want it anyway. On for the street. Off for track days. Some of the base cars may have it if there was a parts shortage and Ford used whatever was on hand.

OBTW no shimmy on mine. Delivered in early May.

Cheers.

Update - out of respect I cannot mention any names of those involved but they are sending a factory technician from Detroit to my local dealer to evaluate my issue. I was told they will do whatever is necessary to resolve the issue.

I am sorry to say that they would not really discuss the other VINs affected by the same exact issue but I will post whatever my resolution is as soon as I have.

I met with the field service engineer yesterday and a certified suspension and handling tech from Ford.

They both drove my car with me in it for 25 miles and both felt the vibration in both the steering wheel and the floor boards.

We then got back to the dealer and took out a brand new 2011 GT with 118 miles on the same 25 mile loop.

IT HAD THE EXACT SAME vibration.

Diagnoses

"normal vehicle characteristic"

So case closed on my car.

He returns!

So does the shimmy still bother you now that you know its normal?

I am still not thrilled but at least I now know that is just how these cars are.

I will try to just enjoy the car and not obsess about it faults.

Not sure if it matters but, I have a base 5.0 and can verify all 5.0's have the Sport Mode. This is for U.S.-issue cars only, I can't verify Canadian. I have sampled several different packages, Brembo, Premium with and without Brembo, and my base. All have Sport Mode.

In the interests of full disclosure, this was posted on my favorite local Mustang site:

So the real reason I joined NJ stangs was to chime in on this chornic complainer so other 2011 owners are aware of his "issues".

He makes mustang owners look bad and has the same issue on every car. :scratch

Compiled a few links from the OPs callout thread on SVTP. I definitely wouldn't send this guy my VIN like he requested in his extensive "shimmy" threads all over the internet. He surely doesn't have any business representing others VINs to Ford. If he actually gathered 15 VINs, he may have made it up.

Here are the vehicle issues he listed on a stangnet post:

2011 Mustang GT - bought new - shimmy day one - rattles - jingling sounds

2002 Corvette z06 - bought new - shimmy from day one, never resolved.

2003 Lexus RX300 - bought new- shimmy never resolved

2004 Lexus RX330 - bought new - shimmy after 2000 miles never resolved.

2005 Infiniti G35x -bought new - shimmy and brake issues - 3 sets of brakes in 35k

2007 Chrysler 300c SRT-8 - shimmy on first test drive before signing papers did not buy.

2007 Jeep Commander - bought new - interior water leak day 1.

2001 Honda S2000 - bought new - perfect except some paint issue

2005 Honda S2000 - bought new - perfect except clunk in rear suspension sometimes.

2008 Honda Civic Si - bought new - paint issues and suspension clunks

2010 Honda CR-V - bought new - paint issues and PS pump hiss

1994 Acura Integra GS-R - bought new - perfect

1998 Acura Integra LS - bought new - perfect

2000 Acura Integra GS - bought new - perfect except squeal in steering wheel.

1999 Honda Civic Si -bought new - perfect except clicking clutch sound.

:doh

Anyhow, thought you guys would like to know before you give him sympathy.

You can google Argetni (insert make above) and find loads of his nonsense complaints for over 10 years.
FWIW, I have over 4000 miles on our '11 GT and it's been steady as a rock.

If it doesn't work out, try a horse, or a bicycle. FWIW

I have 2010 V6 and the steering wheel shakes from time to time at speeds in the 60 to 80 mph range. The car tracks straight as an arrow and I've seen other poster talk about it as well. It's just the way the car is and depending on the road surface it won't do it at all sometimes.

You can't have my VIN, lol

Bicycles own him too.

First ride on new bike and I hit a tree

I should add the Fizik pave that comes with the bike is like spending the night in jail with a man hung like a shetland pony!....I would assume...

Anyone else suffer from BAS?

I think weight does make a big difference, 30 minutes on that seat was like a night in jail with a very large man or so I would imagine.

First road bike, braking require lots of effort

Neck pain with new bike

Drove mine yesterday in normal and Sport mode. Noticed no shaking/shimmy, other than the slight vibration of the car running.

Conclusion - not an issue.

5500 miles, no shimmy issues. Really it performs fantastically and I've been known to push it some and turn hard into intersections to beat the light. Also I very much like Sport Mode for traction, as full traction control engages too early.
