Anyone tried Amsoil signature series 5w-20?

Hello guys

I am planning to use Amsoil 5w-20 signature series motor oil in my 12 gt for 20k oil change, anyone used it in their 5.0, please let me know how it is. I found that this motor oil is on top of the list in motor oil evaluation score.

Thanks

Lots of people here use it from what I have seen. Test results of it look good too.

Can any oil filter go that long though (20K)?

No, if memory serves, Amsoil recommends changing the filter about halfway through that time and adding some new oil to make up for what's lost in the filter, of course. To me, at that point, why don't you just do a full oil change?

Nobody has anything but great stuff to say about Amsoil so I expect you'll have no problems.

I've only heard good things too! I'm thinking about switching to Amsoil. I would still change at 5K-7.5K intervals though. I'm using Motorcraft 5W-20 full synthetic right now.

Then you'd be throwing your money away...if the oil's rated at 20K, leave it in. If you plan to change at 5 to 7.5K intervals, stay with the cheaper priced Motorcraft.

Surprisingly this is exactly what my dealer told me when I enquire switching to synthetic oil. Kind of makes sense I guess. Of course if I was tracking my car…

I know it is, I just can't seem to leave it in there longer than that. Old habits die hard I guess. I will be tracking it occasionally.

That's different...your along the "heavy duty" catagory for sure. You might want to research more and see what Amsoil recommends for intervals with that type of use. Post the answer on this site if you get one (answer); it be curious as to what they have to say.
