Anyone here see the 2010 in person?

Its one thing to judge the car in pix or on TV but was anyone on this board in LA? What are your thoughts seeing the car first hand?

I wasnt in LA, but I have seen the stang in person with camo. The pics dont do it justice. Too much contrasting due to resolution and brightness. In person everything goes good together, but thats my opinion.

Working in automotive advertising got me a press pass to the LA Auto Show. After seeing the photos before hand I was a bit disappointed with the 2010. But when I got to the auto show I definitely think the new stang looks better in person. Everything goes together to give it a more sporty look. The hip and more aggressive looking front are a plus. The tail lights and the plastic grill sides on the GT aren't my cup of tea but it all works together. The car looks slimmer then my 08 GT.

I compared the 2010 to my GT and I was still impressed. They have about 8 mustangs there at the show. They each have different options on them. They even had computers where you can build your mustang with all the options and print out a color photo. Ford has a lot of options and accessories for the new mustang.

I would say don't knock the new stang until you see it in person. Photos don't always do a car justice.

funny, I dont like it in pics and like it even less in person. the lines make the body look like its made out of plastic and the entire car looks cheap imo. although the idea wasnt a bad one, so I suspect the aftermarket or perhaps a future SE can make the car look good. for some reason I think Ford has something planned with changing up the front since they made the pillars next to the headlights as part of the grill instead of the bumper; this could give them a lot of playing room to change things up in that top section.

Cool! that means painting the black grille surround on the GT to match the body color will be easy!

Yes, it has a lot of complex compound curves and angles that probably need to be seen in real life to get the full effect.

I saw a Black 2010 Mustang GT at the Charlotte Auto Show tonight. It looked good. The interior is better, but the door panels still seem to be the same plastic. The dash and center console are much better. On the outside, the front and sides look good. The back end looks better in person, but the big black piece on the bottom still needs to be smaller IMO. The hips are great and both the front AND back end are pinched / angled inward. It does look smaller than the current car. There was a 2009 GT and 2009 Shelby close by and they were good for comparison. Also, for 2005-2009 owners, I think there will be some parts like the side mirrors that will retrofit onto our cars.

Black is my favorite and has always looked good to me, but it's looking increasingly like I would have to revise my plans to get a black, refreshed S197 Mustang since the black really seems to hide a lot of the new lines and contours. The current S197s are relatively slabsided in comparison and it wasn't as much of an issue.

A least in the light of the convention center, it was very hard to see the lines and contours. The hips were very difficult to make out and kind of disappeared into the car. On the plus side the huge black piece on the bottom of the back end blended in better.
