That's the problem with "exclusive" technology. It eventually filters down to other cars. The Boss will always be a special car, but there will come a time when a stock GT will keep up with it or surpass it on the track. And that's not a bad thing. If it was, we'd still be driving 250HP GTs.

I'm guessing the 2015 GT will basically have the BOSS engine ...

And all the Track Key Functions will be part of the GT package.

Be sure they sold you the correct track key. 302 dollars was the price for the Boss 302 Track Key. The correct key number for the GT's built after 7/1/14 is M-14204-MGTTKA.

08 GT/CS 5spd cam only
1/4th: 12.169 - 109.25mph
335rwhp/323rwtq

You are making 335 to the wheels on an 08 GT engine with just cam?
and ran 12.1 ?

Im asking because my 08 GT/CS stock dyno was 267. Gaining almost 70hp
is insane from just cam.

Prepare to be unimpressed. Track key tunes make zero power.

That's just me making fun of the GM guys "cam only" saying.
I've got the run of the mill bolt on's to go along with the cam lol.
Headers, delete plates, underdrive pulleys, intake. Yup 335 and 12.1, I drive it a little hard

Hmmm I'm wondering why people are excited to get the track key on their GT if it doesn't add anything?

Not buying it for more horsepower. In fact it will overwrite the ProCal tune I already have so a loss of a minor amount of horsepower. I am buying it because I like to do five or six track days a year and the tune is designed to make the GT a better road race track experience. Hope it is not wasted money but based on the Boss 302 track folks reviews it sounds like my kind of tune.

What part of the tune are you thinking could enhance your road course experience?

Trackey adds about 5-8hp, at least on the Boss engine so you can say it's negligible. The tune really sharpens the throttle response and the engine braking when you let off the throttle is noticeable. I swear it's worth it just for the lopey idle.

Here is what they say at Ford Racing Parts. Engine braking and enhanced throttle response for example. Though the lopey exhaust is meaningless to me. I also have to turn off the traction control completely to control the car on track but that is already available on the car.

The Track Key PCM software, installed by an authorized Ford dealer after a customer takes delivery of the car, adjusts variable cam timing, spark maps, engine braking, fuel control, throttle response and other engine parameters more than 600 in total to provide a complete race car calibration. The result is an aggressive, race-bred driving experience all the way down to the lopey idle rumbling the exhaust. It is not compatible to any other model year Mustang.

"Anything that could possibly affect all-out performance is deleted from the Track Key calibration," said Dave Pericak, Mustang chief engineer. "Throttle limiting and torque management and any daily drivability enhancements are removed and replaced with a pure Ford Racing competition calibration."

For a real owner review go to the Boss 302 forum and review the track key forum. Especially the comments from 302 HiPro. I hope I am as pleased as he is.

Has anyone verified how you activate the Trackey for the GT? Is it a tune that is installed and stays in that mode until changed with a tuner, or do you activate Trackey mode from the Trac apps? It sounds like you do not have two keys like with the real Boss Trackey, correct?

If your car was built after 7-1-2013 you get the actual key.
Earlier built you have to buy the Procal tuner and the track key tune will be loaded from that.

The car will have the regular tune and the track tune in the computer. The tune is turned on based on which key you install. Regular key for the regular car tune and the Red track key for the track tune. Pretty sweet.

The Boss track key tune is also two keys. Regular and Red.

For the earlier 2014 and 2013 cars the track key tune is installed and stays on since the key only works on the 7/1/14 and later builds.

It's the right one. They are selling me it for $302 dollars because with all the cars I have bought from them and the fact I bought the Track Key for the Boss they could not see charging me more for the same thing I purchased for the Boss.

Excellent deal. Hope they are released soon. I was hoping for a May 9 track day but looking less likely that that day will be met.

Congrats.....It seems you have one of the only track keys in private hands in the country. A few must have been shipped then they stopped. Earlier this week FRRP nor my vendor could not give me a date for general release. My patience is about over.
