I don't care if it's retail or stock. Just wondering if they are doing either.

The plant is running at it's current capacity, as far as I can tell.

My Gt is scheduled to be built tomorrow, I'll post tomorrow night or Wednesday if it gets built. right now the ETA is April 10th, but Ford hasn't issued the OK to sell yet so I take that with a grain of salt.

They are building stock units now. There is a thread on here called "Is the line rolling" I figured it owuld have answered your question.

so this means your dealer took your order and submitted it as a retail stock unit to get your car to you sooner. Very common.

It was ordered as a retail unit at least according to the paperwork I have.
I have a copy of the DORA with a order type of 1. With a Priority of 10.

They are running 2 shifts, not at top speed. I am guessing they are running about 40 cars an hour right now. I don't know how much production is Mazda 6 and how much Mustang. If they are running for 16 hours per day, then 80 hours per week, that would be 3200 cars per week.

Mazda 6 production has been LOW since the intro on the new model. Dunno why? seems like a nice car, hell its built of the new mondeo!
The old model sold great, this one has really tanked. My GF works for a supplier and she has told me that they have a backlog of parts for the 6 as mazda thought the car would take off and then fell on its face.

I hear you on this one... The wife bought an '08 new... I had an '05 new (awesome 5 door hatch!).... Both were beautiful. I would still have mine had it been a Speed6, but they didn't make it in '05. The new body has nice interior and the new motor has b4lls, but the exterior styling is eh... The wife said no thanks to even taking a test drive, she was that turned off by it...

Got VIN this AM

My dealer rep was away on vacation for a few weeks and just sent me an e-mail with my VIN. I have wanted a Mustang for more than 35 years!!

I have no idea whether or not it was a retail or stock order, I imagine stock?? I ordered it on 2/3, GT premium coupe, 6 speed, HID lights, security, Brembo Brakes, 3:55, red metallic.

The dealer claims delivery the week of April 8th, which sounds kind of weird considering that is a Thursday. Is there anything I can find out regarding its build schedule just knowing the VIN?

Congrats on the good news. You can lookup your window sticker by putting your vin in place of the X's in the following link.

Just to clarify, the window sticker should become available about a week before the car will be built. So if you get the "unable to retrieve" error, just try again another day.

For anyone who has ordered their cars and are unaware of it either being Stock or Retail. If they called you back asking for a copy of a driver's license, then its most likely a retail order, and they sent it in through Retail Order Verification. Some early retail orders were not being serialized for build so the dealers changed them to stock, thinking they may get built faster. If you never gave a copy of your license to your dealer than it was ordered stock. Just a heads up for everyone.

As for the program, from what the form read, any retails that are approved in the Retail Order Verification Program in March are for May build. this means that VIN numbers for these cars can come up within a few weeks or so. I have my fingers crossed that the 6 I have get their VINs sometime in the next 2-3 weeks!!!
