so anyone else with a prority 40!! Just wondering.....

Sweet thats where mine is at or whatever....well I cancelled and went with another dealer....this time I got a priority 10, hopefully better than limbo....

 

I'm starting to think some of your dealers haven't ordered your Mustangs for some reason, and are feeding you a bunch of b.s. I don't know why a dealer would do someone like this but this is what i feel is happening to 'some' of you.

 

You know I am thinking the same thing, at least in my situation, there have been 6 5.0's appear and delivered to my dealership (x-dealership now retail vs. stock whatever),they told me to begin with it would just take the spot of one of their "allotments" the thing of it is they were made all around my X-car....so it really has me thinking...lol

 

I have been thinking the same for a long time now. Many dealerships are in poor financial shape. There are probably more than a few that can't get new cars from Ford until they pay for the ones they already have.

 

Weird that they'd make you that low on priority, most dealers set their stock orders at 20, but they can technically set it anywhere from 10 to 99 (though 99 orders never get made, they're placeholders in the system), and may set their stock orders at 60 or so if they're a big dealership. I personally got Priority 10 from my dealer, but they're pretty small, they've only received one 2011 model so far (a V6). A further note, it seems that Ford is actually putting all retail orders through extra quality control, more than what they do for stock orders.

 

I told my dealer straight up that I was on the verge of buying a '10 for $9k less. That may have provided him a bit of motivation to give the reorder a better priority.

I'm waiting with ya on my 2011 Base GT ordered on 4/17 built 5/14 ETA 6/1
I got a call yesterday from my dealer saying that they got a ok to ship from Ford on 6/27 and my car should arrive at the end of July.

I dont expect it to take that long but I'm just glad to get some info.

Ordered mine 1/19/10 and have the same build date and had that ETA... it's been removed since... any chance you last few digits in your VIN 118XXX?

 

Ordered mine on 6/2.. called my dealer on 6/14 for an update, they told me there hasn't been any changes since the order but they would check again, no call back yet. The sales guy actually said "nothing had changed when I checked it yesterday" though yesterday was a Sunday.. so yeah.
