Because at this point (2 days since this was posted) they have no obligation to do so. If it weren't for the internet, chances are you would never know, no care, about a few day hold. You think everytime there is a burp that you should get an email from Ford telling you exactly what is going on?

Dear IT_Guru:

Joe the trucker got a flat, so we are going to be a few hours behind.

Regards,

Ford.

Dear IT Guru:

We have nothing better to do so we'd thought we'd let you know that Joe the trucker stopped at Burger King for lunch after changing his flat tire.

Regards,

Ford

Your missing the point, they can tell me exactly where the car is, what I'm wanting is WHY its still there. They know exactly why its there, just choose not to share that info. I do realize it will be worth it, buts theres nothing wrong with wanting more information on my purchase. You act like it would take more than 5 minutes of someone's time to let people know the status of their car.

Either way, this discussion is getting redundant, I'll just go back to waiting for my Mustang and hoping that they release some information at some point.

That is the problem with giving too much information to some customers. They see their car has been built and is waiting to ship out. Of course they don't have a clue what other factors come into play so they think their car should roll off the line, onto a waiting truck, and directly to their dealer.

Thats the problem with a car being built EARLY. Production keeps going even when the cars arent shipping. The early cars go to the back of the lot and the newer cars go out first!!

Don't know if it is accurate, but this guy usually is.

There is probably only a handful of people who know EXACTLY why your car has not shipped. The rest is all speculation and/or rumors.

And yes, it would take only 5 minutes to let you know. But you aren't the only person that is waiting so it would take more than 5 minutes of their time to let EVERYONE know. Constantly updating systems about each car's status can become extremely tedious and.....well...just not worth it to Ford to pay someone to do so.

There are a ton of factors that come into play when it comes to building/shipping these cars.

Just be happy you are able to get the information you do get now. Go outside and get some fresh air. Your car will be there sooner than later.

Why should they tell you and release information as to what's stalling the process... ? That makes absolutely no business sense at all. Saying there's a parts shortage is all we- as a customer are entitled to- as it is an internal Ford process. Anything more than that is wishful thinking. No offense but a price of say 35k for a car isn't that high. Bentley, Ferrari and other high end luxury car manufactures don't offer day by day status reports of their builds... and you're talking 200k+ for a car. A price tag doesn't earn the right to give out internal information...

As I said in my previous post, once the implementation of RFID technology is expanded, you'll be able to know more. Until then. Wait.

I remember when I ordered my Dodge Dakota in '96 all the dealer told me was "4-6" weeks if everything goes OK.

Luckily at that time I had a friend's father who worked in the plant so I got weekly updates of what was going on. My dealer had no info so I would clue him in on where it was in production.

Actually that is probably going to cause more issues for Ford. There are going to be customers questioning why the car is at a certain point in production when it shouldn't be, why it hasn't moved to the next stage, etc. etc...

Impatient people will be tracking their car on an hourly basis, making phone calls, and getting themselves upset over nothing. Instead of using the information for its intended purpose of just keeping a customer informed.

Sometimes no news is good news.

Lot of Ford nutswingers in here. People with orders have valid complaints about Ford's lack of performance from a customer service standpoint.

Try and be Ford FANS guys, and not nutswingers like Camaro5.

What valid complaint do they have?

Were they promised a delivery date? If so, has that date passed?

No? Then they have NOTHING to complain about.

No.

I just don't understand why people are getting upset other than being extremely impatient.

Posted before your edit.

No I don't work for, nor have I ever worked for, any auto manufacturer.

I'm not *****ing about members at all. I am just offering my opinion and having a conversation with people. Can you imagine a message board if everyone had the same exact opinion? How exciting would that be.

Just curious if you had a hidden motive. I'm all for opinions. I get flamed often for mine. Doesn't bother me.

No motive at all. I think what really set me off was when someone was saying that customers would leave because Ford haven't given anyone an explanation. Even though its only been 2 days

Actually been 3 weeks for me, been built since 3/31. Been since the 5th since they gave me ETA of 4/10. So it's not like its only been 2 days.

I am trying to be patient, but i can see how some people may cancel orders with no updates after a time. I work at a company that takes a lot of customer service calls. i see it happen everyday.

I'd complain to your dealer for changing it from a retail order to a stock order. It probably won't ship for awhile even after they start shipping.

IT Guru the manufacturer is always right. The customer is dirt. You will learn that here.

It is quite peculiar the lengths people will go to protect Ford at all costs, as if they have some stake. Inside shills maybe? Really takes the legitimacy of the site down a notch.
