Air conditioning symbol in LCD screen

Hey guys I dont have the Navi, just the regular LCD screen. I noticed when turning my car off today a white AC symbol (similar to the temp and directional arrow) briefly came on! My AC was on when I turned off my car. Have you guys seen that before?

Where did you see it? I have the Nav and it seem depending on what mode the screen is on it is there or it is not. Do you have the dual zone ac?

It was right above the N/S/W/E Icon. I don't have dual climate.

I'm figuring you mean the "radio" display, the one above the A/C etc. controls, since that's where N/S/W/E is, right? No, I've never noticed that symbol, but will go and look for it shortly since I'm going out anyway. There's quite a lot of possible icons to light up there that I've also never seen lit. Standard A/C and no Nav here either.

[That's a vacuum fluorescent display BTW, thus the (very) polarized lens that makes it a real pain to read the display even in bright sunlight if you're wearing polarized sunglasses...but no Mustang driver wears those because they're so terrible with glare etc.... ]

Edit: I can't make mine light up turning the car on and off with the A/C on, normally I turn the A/C off first before doing that.

so this is what I was talking about....happened again today and I figured out a way to activate it. Turn your AC on, then press front defrost then quickly turn off the AC. Few seconds later this appears on the screen. I would love to have this on the LCD screen while my AC is on, but it looks like its for another model. Anyone have this displayed when AC is on?

Yes but mine never turns on. When my AC is on nothing changes on my LCD display... Does yours? Alos, looks like the two temperature gauges above are for dual AC controls which I don't have.

I've noticed those displays in the past, mostly due to my polarized sunglasses. Mine have never lit up. I think they're for other corporate Ford vehicles that have dual zone climate control but no LCD screen.

yes as u turn the fan **** the bars should increase or decrease indicating fan speed..I have a feeling your lcd chip is defective because instead of displaying a solid icon it may just do a blip when u shut engine off

I get the same thing. Usually it happens when I do a sequence of button presses of the ac controls. Otherwise, the ac fan level is off on LCD display.

Hey guys,

If the AC, defrost, etc. is not on and there is no air coming out of any vent while the icon is coming on, I recommend you bring it in to your Ford Dealer as soon as possible for diagnosis. Please let me know the outcome.

Is the icon supposed to come on while the AC is on?

Not if you don’t have the Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control System, lakersfreak. That comes on when you manually set the temperature.

I guess the two temps are for dual climate and the other for exterior temp.

I didn't even know they made dual climate control with models with this display. I thought only the Navi display models came with dual climate control.

Re my long-ago reply:

You have all sorts of icons (lit) that I've never seen on my display. I only have the standard HVAC system, so that must be the diff. I don't even get the fan speed icon up there, never mind the A/C icon.

Kind of makes sense IMO, when you consider mine is all manually set, so you don't need a display of what the system is automatically doing, because you already know since you (I) did it... With a bright flashlight I can see the icons are available, but not to me.
