Adding brembo package post purchase??

Is it possible to get the brembo package installed to my 2012 gt post purchase from the dealer? I have had the car for 4 months now and i was wondering if it is an option.

You can swap the brakes and such. Just adds up really really fast.

You can probably do everything short of the software changes relatively easy.

The link below has a list of what has been determined to be in the 55D option:

Wheels, tires and brakes are options that could easily be upgraded. But the brembo package aka 55D option is what i'm really interested in. Does anyone have any experience or know of anyone having this option installed by a dealer with the same parts from ford as stated on the 55D option from the link above.

As a reminder the brembo package does not only consist of different tires/rims and brakes. And all this i'm contemplating of having installed to my 2012 GT premium.

Man, for the dealer to do it afterward would cost a FORTUNE!!!

$1695 option, for the dealer to add it after the fact would cost probably at least three times that.

you can probably do everything but the ESC tuning and EPAS. I did just the brakes myself, but with aftermarket rotors and pads.

You can get better aftermarket stuff anyways.

In less than 10k miles, I have replaced suspension parts on my brembo '12 with better performing aftermarket parts.

At a minimum you'd need:
A big brake kit (TPSMotorsports has a good price)
Wheels and tires to fit the brakes

for reference, I paid
660 for the calipers from my local dealer, and got the rotors and pads from tirerack.

I have a wholesale account, so it was a little less, but pads (centric posi-quiet) and rotors (plain centric) are an additional 210 plus shipping, so altogether, the brake upgrade alone is around 900, not counting wheels to clear the calipers.

This article and it's companion video, which will start shortly after you open up the link, is one of the things that convinced me to order this car.

However, the in car views and Randy Pobst's description gave me pause about the Brembo pkg. Not so much the brakes, but the suspensions performance. I knew I wanted better (now have it, too).

Couple that with the fact that, although I really like the look of the wheels, they're not light and the width limits the width of tire I wanted to put on the rear of the car.

Like mentioned, you'll read of quite a few guys w/the Brembo pkg who've already upgraded their suspensions. Some have even ditched the wheels.

Those brakes are avail and are at the low end of what I'm considering. You can likely find a set of used Brembo wheels if you really want them. Many options for the suspension.

I looked on Tousley Ford last night and they sell the calipers for $512 for the pair.

You can pick up stock replacement rotors for about $60 each.

thats a good price. They may add a core charge in for one of the front calipers. I don't know why, but both the online place and my local dealer that matched their price had a core charge, but only on one of them.

Also, the larger dust shields were about 20 each, but you could get away with just trimming yours. then again, its only another 40 bucks to do it right.

That price included the one core charge.

And instead of the factory backing plates I would go with the Shelby cooling duct kit, you can get it for only about $140.

Good suggestion. In my case, I only did the upgrade for looks and not performance. I have my racecar for that.

This

....many folks that buy brembo end up replacing most parts that made it a brembo....especially those of us that are performance oriented......
