If anyone has a link or idea on how to replace the evaporator, I can't afford $900 for the dealer to do it. The plan is to buy the parts, do it myself, and have someone charge it for me. I may also use this as an excuse to take the ac out, gut the interior, and put in racing seats.

The evaporator resides in a module that also houses the heater core and its a big rascal that probably takes up about a 1/3rd of the space behind the dash.
It probably requires removal of the console and disassembly of the dash to get it out.

And by the way, I'm not trying to take the thread off-topic, I'm trying to point out that if you can afford the racing seats, you can probably afford the repair ...
Not trying to make a habit of this... But have to agree with Gabe again!...
Replacing a AC Evaporator is not a job for a novice. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with that job. Lots of small plastic components that can break while trying to get the Evaporator Case out. Plus the seals where the AC lines attach to Evaporator can be a leak source if not handled with care and installed properly. Just lots to go wrong that could cost you more in the long run. I understand enjoying working on your ride and the pride of doing it yourself... Plus the extra cash in your pocket. Or new racing seats in your case. But would leave this one to someone else.
