Yes true but I think the driver mod is the biggest factor. I remember building a 93 Escort in the early 2000s with turbo, built motor, and all kinds of goodies. Back then I couldn't get the car out of the low 13s. My father would consistently get it into the mid 11s. Yes I sucked back then. Fortunately I am a much better driver now.

Sure there can be. They probably ran those numbers in March. There can be a BIG difference between Southern California, Southern Florida, Michigan, and New Jersey in March.

But yes, some magazines have better drivers than others. My point was...the driver isn't the only factor to consider. I'd also throw the gearing in there as well. I'd like to see 3.31, 3.55 and 3.73 equally optioned cars ran back to back to back multiple times by the same driver to see how different they are to launch, etc. That will probably never happen though.

Thank you. Not to mention track prep conditions.

Premium Pkg, IUP, 500W Shaker. Same driver, Same Day.
2005 w/ 3.55 1.92 13.39 103 (On Limiter last 30')
2007 w/ 3.31 1.99 13.49 104
I dont expect as much difference (if any) on a 2011 with 8.3% lower 1st and 22% more torque on real street tires. Now on stickies...
