5 litre w/ Flowmaster out-law axleback

i've had the car for about a week . Had a good friend along with a few other friends from Grip Division meet up this past sunday for a film session of my 5.0. i sort of dislike the axleback and at times i love it .. idk i plan on switching it sooner or later anyway . i need a wider and sticker tire as well with these 3.73 gears + future bolt ons & tune.

here's the video .

enjoy

Just put mine on and I really dig 'em!

What part of Texas are you in?

We could put them side by side and have dueling Outlaws!

I did notice an error on your car specs though...

How do you get the youtube player to show in your post?

Cool video! 420hp or 412hp? Small detail but I wasn't sure if your car was stock. I like the production look of it.

I'm in Austin , haha that would be pretty cool actually . yeah the 420hp , but everywhere i read i get they are under rated and that all the 5.0s made 420hp or around that area. before i bought this one , i was looking at a 2012 5.0 and it had the same exact modification ( although axlebacks are just noise and no power gain ) and that car made 387 whp on it's highest run , the 3rd run it made 382whp

That's what I'm looking at changing to. Stocks aren't getting my pony heard.

BTW, how's your Hurst short-throw working for ya? I gotta get rid of the factory stick. I'll be going to a two-post bracket setup of some kind. 3rd and 5th at high R's don't suit me at all.

While the drone is there , it isn't all that bad in 6th.

I love my Hurst short throw, it's my first stick shift so I have never used anything different.

It is very very short throw, but it is great. Reverse is very easy to accidently slip into, but there is a way to fix that...I just have not done it yet.

Overall I like the shifter, I just ordered a Barton two-post bracket for it, just to see if it makes it a little better.

Currently it is a little hard to get into first and second gear, but I think thats the crappy stock shift bracket.

The Outlaws sound so much better after a few hundred miles once they "season".

Being I'm old school, I've always liked the looks of the Hurst. Knowing that it's a little cheaper than others, I was hoping to get positive reports on it, vice the option for a Barton or MGW. I flatly refuse to pay a premium for the Ford Racing alternative. Yes, the two-post bracket is a must for me too. I despise the 3rd gear debacle with the factory shifter. Seems like 5th isn't much better either. Thanks for your opinion.

NP, don't let me hold you back from getting the Hurst!

I love it, the issue with reverse is fixed by tightening a bolt underneath the shifter....whoever installed it did not tighten it to my liking. I have to fix that, but I am lazy.

Also, my opinions of using the shifter are coming from a total novice manual transmission driver....

I was primarily considering the Hurst anyway. I was just looking for a little boost to break out the debit card. Your post did it for me, manual tranny novice or not.
