SMS and Steeda are supposedly launching their big dogs at the show.
I would certainly hope that the ratchet down production until 2011 Job 1 starts, that way dealers aren't sitting on old stock like they tend to do so much (at least around here).

I don't disagree with your logic, but if they can show that the GT gets a decent improvement in mileage (which I would think it would see some improvement), then why not show it. Now you've got people who can sit here and deduce that something better is coming, and most likely still won't pull the trigger on a 2010 because of the V6 info already out.

I say just get it out in the open so that people can put the rumors to rest. Save the GT500 for NAIAS, that way you still have your 'ace in the hole', and call it a day.

Upgrades are also in store for the Mustang GT, which Ford plans to introduce in January at the Detroit auto show."
That makes a lot of sense. Ford really made a big deal out of the new V6 Mustang press release, and the Fiesta is another big reveal for the LA Auto Show, saving the GT reveal for the NAIAS in Detroit is a smart move. As much as I'd like to find out about it right now, I will be going to the NAIAS again (LA is too far away and too expensive) and it will make the trip to Detroit even more special for me and my friends.

I just want to see it by then, I'm hoping that I can get press passes to get there and take some photos during the unveil. It's nice living 15 minutes from Cobo.

If Ford is releasing 2011 info in step with the auto schedule, then that would mean that the '11 GT500 would be revealed in Chicago, a little over a month before Job 1 for 2011 is scheduled.

What do you wanna know? It has 414 hp, and 434 lb ft of torque. And it WON'T be in a Mustang. Its by far too heavy of a motor. Its for truck applications.

I bet it's light than the current GT500 engine!

Which was also initially developed for truck applications.

Your point? I see none. Point is "it's too heavy" isn't the reason as there is already a heavier engine in a Mustang. Something tells me you don't know the differences between a 4.6 and a 5.4 other than displacement...

I wasn't making a point, just having fun, you really should stop taking yourself so seriously, not everything is about you. If you know the differences, please enlighten us. My guess is you're all talk.

Muscle cars were originally made with engines developed for non-car applications. That's the core of the idea, really. I don't get why you're all hot and bothered by what was an obviously playful remark.

How about
'its heavier than what they want in the mustang, and would throw off the front end more than they want, it eats gas like candy'

there's a reason they ditched the 5.8L variation of this engine to go with the new 5L family.

Case in point, 3 guys all weighing the same weight aren't created equal.
250lb guy can be a fit/tall guy, medium height chunky guy, or a short fat slob.

Hehe, I didn't think of it that way. It's gotta be difficult being Boomer, knowing what's probably going to be what and then standing around the unwashed masses letting little teases flash by.

Or maybe Boomer's not the nice guy he posts as and is really just enjoying this.
