Thanks for the review. I'm glad to here similar experience to what I'm having.

My 13 GT has about 3300 miles and I've loved every mile. Plenty of power and decent mileage. All the double takes and compliments on the car make it even sweeter.

I've had my GT500 axle backs on for about 9k miles and love every bit of them. I've heard tons of axle backs in person and this is just the right one for me. I'm finally pulling the plug, however, and getting the resonators removed next weekend. Can't wait!

Best move you could do. Should have done it 9,000 miles ago

I really like the sound as is; how much louder is it? Is there a lot more rasp?

Nothing like that, more than anything I would say it just enhances the quality of the mufflers. There are plenty of good YouTube videos of GT500 axle backs without resonators. You will be so glad you did it guaranteed. No one has EVER said "dang I wish I still had resonators with my GT500s" after they removed them....You will love the cold starts more than anything. That's where I noticed the most change right off, alot throatier. Nothing obnoxious or "hey look at me" about this upgrade. I know exactly where you're coming from.

Thanks for the help man. I actually choose to get the gt 500 axle backs from watching YouTube videos and without resonators. I just chickened out this week when I went to get it all done. Mine sounds great under throttle, just still a bit quiet at idle. Which I'm sure a resonator delete would fix 3" pipe it is?

Resonators being deleted tomorrow and for only 30 bucks!! Guy says he only has 2.5" pipe to weld in, I guess 3" isn't necessary?

I think it's 3". Whichever size it slips right on top of the stock pipe and welded in place.

3,300 miles on my '13 GT also, and I like everything about it!

And some things I just couldn't be sure of beforehand that worked very well in other cars, and I was just hoping it wouldn't be a negative in the Mustang. None of it is a negative. The climate controls work very well, though I haven't had a chance to test the capability of A/C yet. It's a great open-windows car, no buffeting at any speed. The cruise control works RIGHT NOW, that I like as opposed to some other Fords I've driven.

I came from a Charger R/T, and pretty much the only thing I miss about it is the larger size, it really was a 4 seater and had copious trunk space. I'll never use the "rear seats" in the Mustang. I have enough trunk space, but I've already packed it full a number of times where the Charger I don't think I ever did.
The limited slip differential is a welcome change. The Charger, with it's "electronic" LS would just hopelessly spin the inside wheel on any sharp turn.

Figure stock the Mustang upgrades the power by about 70HP, loses some weight, adds true limited slip (as an option), a manual trans (option), and better tires (track pkg.), better brakes (Brembo / track pkg.) it's a very pleasant change!

Yes, the ride is a bit harsh at times (bumps not as much as "wavy" pavement, there's a certain pavement that gets this car hopping up and down at highway speeds). It's livable.

I LOVE this car. I look forward to driving it each time I do. Sometimes I'm almost sad when I arrive at my destination

It fits my needs and driving style. I like acceleration and handling, a lot. This car has not just "enough", but more than enough to end road battles before they begin, and that's a relief. At least around where I drive, people can get competive / very protective of "their space", and sometimes "their space" is exaggerated practical. This Mustang has enough power to move quickly in any direction, and put it where I wish, and do so overwhelmingly enough that other drivers tend to not bother to do things they might be prone to do . . . speed up to block lanes changes and such. I haven't yet ever "raced" another "fast" vehicle, they just leave me alone . I do get challenged frequently by silly stuff - minivans and the like. If I need to get somewhere, maneuver away from a tailgater briskly, etc. this car just does it, promptly.
All that and I'm getting better gas mileage than I used to. I didn't buy this car for outstanding fuel conservation, but it is nice it's better than before. One thing I don't like is the tiny fuel tank, fill ups are more frequent.

8,000 miles on my 13 V6. That thing is a blast to drive. I sometimes regret not getting a GT, but driving in the inner city for work would kill my mpg.

The only problem I have about driving it is finding a parking spot far enough away from everyone so nobody opens their door into it!

Congrats on your car. These 2013s are the best Mustang I've ever owned / driven. We have 3000 miles on our GT500 and love it as well.

Our poor 88 GT just doesn't get the love it used to before this new bich came to town.

I'm good, got it done with 3" pipe, both add in pieces had slight bends in them but they fit and looked very well. And it sounds GREAT!!

The stock piping is 2.75"
Most people cut out the resonator and use 3" pipe over the top of the existing pipe, and fill it in with weld. 2.75" pipe is not exactly easy to find anyway.

Recently got GT500 AB w/FRPP Power Pack, and I love the sound especially at cold start - well more like only at cold start - it becomes pretty quite and looses raspy/gurgle once warmed up. I have been debating the resonator delete since then, because removal might cause the loss of low end torque, in which I just gained a few from Procal Tune.

Any thoughts on this?
