2014 track pack ticking

I had my second oil changed the other day and **** it it loud to me it sounds like the cam phasers on the driver side I thought it was detonation but from reading and watching videos that I think is ruled out. i do have a 93 bama race tune and ghost cams. The problem I have I not what to do I'm not scared of the dealer I have go connections but weather or not ghost cams make the phasers noisy any thoughts I might take it in on Tuesday

That ticking is way more than my engine. Is something stuck in the fan?

Have you double checked the oil level? Maybe somebody screwed up.

Check the oil level and what oil was put in there. These cars are pretty temperamental when it comes to this. Check to make sure they put in 5W-50 instead of 5W-20 that the regular GT takes.

Solved it was the ghost cam idle I called bama and they said that the ghost cam tune does make the valve train louder he said not to worry but I have since put on my performance tune that does not have it.

Do you have cats? As I understand it, ghost cams can cause problems if your running with cats.

The Track Pack motor and the standard GT motor are one and the same, minus the addition of the Boss oil cooler. The oil cooler does not require you to run a higher weight oil.

Beg to differ. They are the same motor but they use different oil for different reasons. 5W-50 is for TP cars. Do what you want though. It's your car and your warranty.

Sure, if you're doing 5 30 minute sessions at Monticello in a day, use 5W50.

Warranty? He's already got a tune in the car.

Or driving like me. I'm actually getting way better mileage now that I live further away from work. I go 80mph pretty much everywhere I go and get there fast.

Yep was getting 27 mpg average on the way to the beach, a good 200+ mile ride. Heavier weight doesn't seem to hurt too much. Got some 5w-50 Mobil 1 for my next change

That's funny. Going 80 requires 5w-50. You're turning what about 2200 rpm's? Gosh. That's real hard track duty right there.
