2014 Mustang v6 Upgrades

If you are going to drop $15 in performance on a V6 why don't you just buy a Coyote engine for $8k and use the rest for the install. Only real way to get the V6 to hang with the GT

Look at the 2011 project V6 on AM. They put at least $15k in parts and that doesn't include labor to lay 400hp and run a 12.5 1/4 mile. sure that could hang with a bone stock GT, but theGT also has the aability to add all thoseparts .

My '12 V6 was great.
What other car is as capable and can return OVER 30 MPG on the highway?
And the 35.7 MPG best that mine could do was one of the main reasons I hadn't done any performance mods. I was really digging the fuel economy performance.
Nothing against V6 modding though, if that is what you want to do.

One could spend 5,500 on one mod and hang with a stock 5.0. One doesn't need to spend 15k on mods to hang with a stock 5.0. One supercharger for the 3.7 and your at 400 rwhp with no other mods. Stock 5.0's are 360 rwhp so no need to spend 15k. The project car also had a bunch of appearance mods that add to the cost and have nothing to do with its performance. Include a dyno tune one could spend 6k total and be faster than a stock 5.0 so 15k is silly and not applicable to your point of view. Just saying compared to a stock 5.0 not a modded one.
I'm not arguing the best use of money, but I don't think adding 100+ rwhp won't require other changes to properly put the power on the pavement.

Well, the topic is if the OP should modify his car or not. Well my response is... it is a mustang, of course you should! It doesn't matter if it is a V6, V8 or even an ecoboost 4 banger. Even if it is just appearance mods, enjoy your Mustang and make it your own. When you do that mod that you think really makes a difference to your ride is a great feeling. That mod that you can't wait to show off.
Now for the 3.7 running with the 5.0 issue. Do you really think it would take 15k to make a 305hp lighter car run with a 420hp car? A 3.7 would just need a good CAI, full exhaust, a great set of tires and a good tune to keep up with a 5.0. You would be raising the rwhp by about 30-40 and then the weight factor, guess what? A 3.7 is right there with a STOCK 5.0 but gets better MPG. Sure you can get a 5.0 but that money that you put towards owning a 5.0 comes out to more than the mods I listed for a base V6. Think what you want but I wouldn't trade my V6 in for anything other than a gt500 if that was in the cards haha
