Brian,
You seem to have a lot of knowledge, not sure where you get it from (are you a dealer, Ford rep, Ford Corp, etc?)
BUT, I received information from a reliable source that Ford actually started production of the 2014's already and will not begin shipping until 2013. Can you confirm this information?
I'm thinking 2014's are rolling out earlier than originally planned in order for the re-tooling and early entry of the 2015's.

I'm sure that Ford has built some pre-production '14 Mustangs, but regular production '14's don't start being built until the 3rd week of January.
I just looked into our Mustang orders to give you some real examples from our store's orders. The very last 2013 Mustang that we have being built by Ford is sheduled to be built Jan 16th and is due to arrive at our dealership February 8th. Our very first 2014 Mustang has already been scheduled to be built January 21st and is due to arrive at our dealership February 7th. Looks like both cars could possibly end up on the same train heading to our dealership. We already have 4 new '14's serialized.
When I bought my '11 5.0L in February 2011, it was the very last new '11 Mustang to arrive at our dealership and it was on the same convoy truck as our first new '12 Mustang. As the '14 is a carryover from the '13, I suspect there will be no break in production at the factory to switchover, just as in the '11 to '12 switchover.

The VVR for my car shows that it was in the Body Shop as of Dec 18th with an ETA of Feb 4rd, but FCS and the window sticker says that it won't be built until Jan 14th. Is it possible that it was built this week or that the paperwork is the only thing in the Body Shop?
What does the VVR look like for your Jan 16th car?

I’ve seen this as well, guys.
Quit the confusion. This is for the 2014, correct? This is why I asked because someone on another forum whos son is about as high up as you can go said his 14 has been built and was one of the first down the line. Im not certain any dealer has 100% full visibility. Hmmmm

Thought that was the case, but did not want to BM (bad manner) him. When I get home I'll get order info for a VIN update. Thanks Deysha and Merry Christmas!

We have had several of our '14 V6/GT Mustangs scheduled already, though. Our first one is being built the week of Jan 21 (first week of production) and it has an ETA to arrive at our dealership Feb 07.

I hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it. The base model 101A package (Exterior Sport Appearance Package with rocker stripes and rear spoiler) is missing from the '14 line up. The 201A with that package is still available, but that's a premium model, as you noted. Good catch!
