2014 Convertible Top Fit and Finish?

Does anyone else have the roof coming out of the trim on the interior?
Yes it has been at Ford for most of July. I finally picked it up this saturday as I only have so many weeks of summer left to enjoy it. The dealer has tried to fix, they even sent it to a outside convertible top specialist last week. The pics below are how I got it back Saturday. Yes it's better than it was. It was out by almost 2" in the middle now more like 0.75". The dealer basically says that is the way it's suppose to be and I'm too picky? Yes Deysha has already hooked me up with a Customer care specialist and I have sent pictures. Is this really the way it is?

Stretched by the summer heat? What does (or will) it look like in the cooler months?

It was that way from day one when we picked it up in April, it's only 3 months old. The summer days in Vermont are not exactly the hotest - It's stored in a garage at about 70 deg. Never seen a day over 90. The top seems really tight - to me tighter than it should be.

My neighbor has a new 13 GT with the same issue (worse than yours I think). I mentioned it to her and she hadn't noticed it. She also has not mentioned it again. Must not be a big deal to her but I understand your wanting it to look right. Good luck.

Is that maybe a GT thing? My Vinyl top is perfect.

Here are a couple of photos of mine. I don't see any problems like you are having. My top is tight and I do have to grab the center hand hold and pull down strongly to latch the top.

Show these last pics to your service advisor and ask for the same results. It looks like they may have to replace the top?

Not the best pic (took it with my phone in the garage), but mine looks fine ('13 GT Premium). I would definitely go back and show that this is not normal...

If your knucklehead service dealer is right, I need to go get mine pulled out. My '13 GT doesn't have this problem. Like Bucko said, take this pics to him, and show the butthead how it's suppose to be.

A word of caution: Most dealers do not fix things like this in house. They send them out to a contracted upholstery shop. I only wish I knew this when I took my plastic car vert. to the GM dealer. The top was fine, but they scratched the top of the hatch when replacing the top. Good luck.

Actually, I have seen this happen on several convertibles. I think it's more from the flexibility of the inside liner. This is not the seam/hem for the outside layer. You should be able to just take your fingers and slide the seam into the crossmember so you won't see it. However, the next time you lower and raise the top, it will mostly likely do that again. I noticed this on several of the cars when I was looking around before buying mine...these were V6s BTW. I wasn't looking for a GT. My '03 GT Vert is great as is for me. Can't afford the tickets.
