2014 19" Winter Tires/Wheels

With winter coming up here in Ohio, I'm looking at putting winter or all season tires on my 2014 v6 'stang. I have the performance package so it has 19" wheels on it. Anyone have any suggestions on what tires to get? I'm also conflicted as to whether I should just get tires and have them mounted and balanced or if I should buy a wheel/tire combo so that I have other wheels I won't mind getting crapped up over the winter. It's cheaper to buy just tires but if I get them with a wheel, say from tirerack.com, then they would come balanced and I could just change them out myself.

What would happen if I picked up a set of used 17" wheels with the all season tires on them from a stock mustang. Would this effect my speedometer readings or would everything work all the same? Just trying to prepare for winter and want to keep my baby safe. Unfortunately it's my daily driver so just storing it for winter isn't an option

Thanks in advance for thoughts!

The oem 17" tire/wheel combo will work okay, being taller they will cause your speedometer readings to be slower than normal, but since it's only short term it really shouldn't be much of a problem.

Swapping tires back and forth on the stock rims would suck IMO and would be more expensive.

19" winter tires are $$$. I went with 18" winter tires on gt500 rims. The 17" option would be the cheapest but all seasons aren't to good in snow and ice. Although they wont fit if the V6 performance package includes Brembo brakes(I don't know what is in that package).

V6 Performance Package has the same size brakes as a standard V6.

Roush has OEM premium 17" wheels with all season tires and TPMS for 600 delivered. You could get 215/65 Michelin's or 225/60 BFG's depending on stock..their choice.

You will have to check the speedo difference online to see if those options fit your needs.

The tire outside diameter is what you need to be concerned with for speedometer accuracy. Just buy a tire that is the same outside diameter as your stock tire and the rim size will make no difference.

Buy a set of OEM 17" wheels with one of these tires. You'll be off by ½ a percent, which is meaningless.

I was in the same boat with my new GT w/ 19" track pack wheels. The stock 19s now have a set of 245/40/19s bridgestone blizzak LM-60s on them and will serve as my dedicated winter wheel/tire set for years to come. I've ran blizzaks on previous cars for about 6 years and they are fantastic in the snow and ice. In the spring I'll pull the trigger on a set of forgestar wheels, I can't wait hehe.

I have these available if you are interested. $900 without spacers. The spacers are only required to clear the Brembo calipers.

We can arrange shipping.

Me too. Got them at an absolute steal over the summer. Hope to put them on this weekend.
