Hi steven46746,

Your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor™ (IOLM) system which displays a message in the message center at the proper oil change service interval; this interval may be up to one year or 10,000 miles (16,000 km). When ENGINE OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED appears in the message center display, it’s time for an oil change; the oil change must be done within two weeks or 500 miles (800 km) of the ENGINE OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message appearing. The Intelligent Oil Life Monitor™ must be reset after each oil change. If your message center is prematurely reset or becomes inoperative, you should perform the oil change interval at six months or 5,000 miles (8,000 km) from your last oil change and visit your Ford dealer for diagnosis. I hope this helps.

Great thread here - lots of good info, especially the little things that haven't been posted much before, like the diff cover, special TP data sheet, vented brake shields...

I'm ordering a '14 GT TP this weekend and this info is music to my ears!
I never crawled under the car to take a picture, but a quick search of the interwebs yielded me these photos:

This is the same view I get when I peak under the car... One other point to note about the Boss/Track pack axle is that it's painted. That way it does not start to rust like other rear axles.

interesting, I didn't realize the track pack got rid of the piston cooling jets..

also, is the revised tune for thicker oil due to the cam phasers?

Thanks JScott!

Awesome that the TP axle is painted! That was going to be one of the first things I was planning to do when I got the car home.

I changed the oil at 5500 miles as advised by my service manager. I had the only TP car in the area and he even verified with me that it took 8.5 QTs and it was 5W-50 because of all the mentioned reasons so far. I have 8623 miles on her as of the 7th of this month when I put her on a boat headed for Germany. I'm trying to preplan my oil change and resource the oil and filter before I need it since I can't just go down to the dealer and order it. I got my first oil change for free and it would've cost just over $100. I'm probably going to switch to Royal Purple this time though. I have been very impressed with the performance of my car so far. So much so that I wouldn't be adding much power until I get used to what I have. We will see how she does on the Ring as soon as I can get up there. Cheers

Oh and just incase anyone was wondering, you can buy a bratwurst and brochen sandwich at McDonald's. I'm in the right place.
