MPG *was* a factor in my purchase, not a big one, though with a 98% highway commute. I noticed she sips fuel like a refined duchess drinking tea until you drop the hammer - she then sucks gas like a drunken soccer thug goes through Guinness.

Yes, of course I do, there is no reason not to, does hurt the car and its very fast to downshift if needed.
I think you meant "doesn't" hurt the car. The car seems a little. . .woozy at RPMs that low, but I've never noticed any chugging so you're probably right.

As it should be. You gotta love these cars. The only time the Wifey's gets driven reasonably hard is when I drive. With the 4.6L auto, it averages around 20 combined. Has been as high as 29 mpg highway crusing on a perfect day w/perfect road conditions. If the '13 gets anywhere close I'll be as happy as a mule eatin' briars. If it don't, I'll still be as happy as...........well you know.

Absolutely, my mistake. And ya, it doesnt bog, but as you said its not the fastest thing at low RPM.
Of course in reality non of us ever get anywhere near the EPA estimate with these cars.
Actually I routinely exceed EPA estimates in my V6. I do 95% of my driving in the city and over the past 3,000 miles I've averaged 21.9 MPG according to the car computer.
