I recently bought this shifter to replace the 2010 I installed in my 2007 car.
I noticed that there is no 123 but an S option. Found out that its for "sports" mode in the newer cars.
Can I assume that this mode doesn't work for my car?
if so thats fine just as long as the shifter itself works.
ill be missing the 123 gears right?
Or do you think that this shifter unlike the 2010 one is not compatible with my car?

Yes this is the whole assembly.

I read on another forum that it would need to be rewired somehow.
Ill have to do some more research before installing it.
Was hoping someone would know something about it first.

You bought the entire assembly? If so, then all that stops you from shifting 1 2 3 is a plastic block piece that prevents the shifter from moving past the 1 spot - which is the s spot on the new shifter. The shifter bezel is also preventing the move back.
Your solution is to use the 2010-12 shifter box and bezel with the newer shift ****. This is what I did.
As for rewiring, in order to keep the hill assist, you need to rewire either the + or - on the new shifter to act as the hill assist button.
If you want to have select shift, yes it will work, but you need to flash the PCM to that of a 2013/14 car.
Look in this thread. It is on the bottom of post #3 where it is explained on how to get Select Shift in 13/14 cars.

I will update once install. I may have more Qs though.
Sorry, I missunderstood. I thought you were putting the 13/14 shifter into a 10. You don't have hill assist, then, but overdrive.
That means you will not be able to reprogram the PCM. Select Shift won't work either. You'll have to just keep the shifter box and bezel and just switch the **** and wire upI want to put the shifter that I pulled out from my 12 into my 05. Can you post a pic?

Oh thats fine. I didnt think SS would work in my car, nor would I want it. Just want the esthetics's of how it looks in my car.
If the 12s are anything like the 10s it will surely fit. You can see pics in my thread here: https://themustangsource.com/forums/...ustang-532097/
I have a before n after shots near the middle of the 1st post. It was a straight swap.
If the 12s are like the 13-14s then youll have to wait as Ill be doing this swap in the spring since we are covered in snow and theres no way I'm working outside in this cold.

Thanks.
I see that you put in the newer console. That's pretty cool.
I wasn't going to switch consoles, however. I was, however, wondering how flush the newer bezel sat in the old console.
Its pretty **** cold here too ...
Cheers

Sorry for the wait. Been real busy with a move and all.
Test fitted it and the hole in the console is to short. I knew there was a reason why I upgraded the console to the 2010+. If you are going to upgrade the console youll need the Ebrake as well.
Or make the hole in the console longer for it to fit.
hope this helps.
