Talking My Awesome Mustang

So I have had my 2007 Pony Package Mustang for only a year now, and I still really enjoy/like it. Its like the best first car anyone can get.

That said, I have been really busy Updating it. I put a lot of work (and money) into the interior so far and some exterior stuff as well. Here is some of the things that I Updated. Now it doesnt look as cheap as it was before. Still have a lot to do though. Ill update this thread as I get more done, if anyone is interested.
Some before and after photos. Before is on the left.

Rear Lights and license plate cover.

light up Sills

Mirror with compas

I even changed the lights in the map light

I got some parts Hydro-Carbon from a guy in Florida. It took 2 tries to get it right, but all the wait was worth while. Remember I live in Canada.
Also added some Chromed parts as well.

With added door plates from Diode Dynamics.

Then I had the fun of changing the Steering Wheel and added an OEM Nav system. Getting and wiring up that thing was a lot of work. All my thanks goes to AkDoggie and Al as well as 4D tech for all the help. Everything works as it should.

Then I changed the EBrake and Shifter along with the center console from a 2010. Remember I know NOTHING about cars. I am pretty proud of myself that I was able to swap these things for the first time ever.
The EBrake handle cover is from Redline Goods. I got it for free! They've done a really good job on it.

Then I changed the outside mirrors. These are from a 2013 Mustang. The thing with these is that they do NOT fit properly. I had to drill extra holes into the car for them to fit.
This is a pic of the start of drilling the holes.

I am still in the process of finishing it, but I then changed the cluster. Still need to get the outer ring to glow blue when I flip on the headlights.

I think it looks tons better from the original.

Added more light in the trunk.

Lastly I changed the inner door panels. Got them as well from Redline Goods. Took two tries and a LOT of waiting to get them right.
I added lights in the map pockets as well as black trim all around the doors.
They look SO much better from the original ones. I am really happy with them. I even wired the lights up so the turn on when the door opens and off when closes. They turn on again when you turn on the headlights.
This took a lot of thinking to get done right because the 07 does not have the control box like the 2010's do that controls them.
I ended up adding 2 switches to control them. Works pretty good.

Oh ya also changes ALL those puke green lights to a cool blue!

Still have a lot to do... like adding HID headlights...
What do you all think? This was all done in my 1st year of owning the car.
Hope you enjoy.. Will update again some time.

Looking good, I love the taillights, looks like you made the interior feel more like a 2010+ Mustang. Got any pics of the exterior of the car? What are your future plans for the car? Glad to see that you are enjoying it so far, hope to see more.

VGMStudios,

Where in Canada are you? I'm in Ontario and would like to pick brain on some of your interior work. I really like the look of the center console.

Thanks

Yes I like a lot of what you did NICE work. The console looks great. How much did that cost and where did you get the parts from? What did you do with the traction control buttons?

Nice! Im surprised most of the 2010+ interior parts fit in the 07 with no major modification.

Really nice work, how much modification was needed to swap the center console? I would really like to try that myself. Steering wheel also very nice

Your car looks Fantastic. Great Job.
Thank you Jazzman442. I used a 2010 shifter I bought from AKDoggie. The install (being my first time) was actually pretty good. Getting the plastic holder to come off the older shifter was the hard part. Everything just snapped into place after putting in the newer one.

As for the steering wheel. I got a GT500 wheel and I used AKDoggies guide.

He has helped me quite a lot getting everything to work nicely. I couldnt have done it without him.

Thank you Glenn. I bought the center console from Ebay. Being in Canada I had to pick it up state side. The NAV unit I bought from a junk yard in Ontario. I went to carparts.com and searched for it there and found a junkyard in Canada that had it for a decent price of $250 CND. As for the 2 buttons on the console, they do nothing as of now. I was thinking of duplicating them from the ones at the top but decided against it.
Though the truck release works.

Thank you NYGMEN. Quite a bit of modification is needed as what I did was use my dremel tool to cut away parts of the front slowly. It was a process of measure, cut a little, fit, cut some more, fit and so on until it fit flush. I then added some foam tape to fill in any gaps. I also trimmed down the underside of the front area so it would sit flat.

Attaching wires to the center console was pretty easy, I just took power from the gear shifter since it turns on and off with the headlight switch. But for the cup lights, I taped into the control box where when the car is turned on, the lights turn on regardless of headlight switch.

hope this helps. If you have any more questions Ill be happy to answer.

You answered most of my questions in this post. I'm not to far from you, I live in Belleville and I bought my Mustang from a dealer in Ottawa. I'm going to switch out the steering wheel as soon as I can get my hands on one and I would really like to try the center console install in my car.

I finally got the rest of the parts to finalize the dash cluster.

I was told it couldn't be done. Well I didn't like that answer and made it happen. Hehe.

Up next HID lights with halos.

Cheers.

Im sorry, could you explain what you mean by tails? Do you mean my tail lights? I know not everyone likes them. I wish I could change them up a bit as they do not function like the stock ones do.

Thanks for the appreciation. Just so you know the car has been always Alloy, color code G5. It was never blue.
