First of all, the next major platform change, won't take place until April 17th of 2014. Thus marking the Mustang's 50th anniversary, as a 2015MY.

That being said, the 2015 Mustang will NOT be based upon the Mustang II, but will be built upon the all new GRWD platform.

As for continuing on the retro theme, it's my understanding that the new platform will emphasize much less upon the retro theme, and emphasize far more towards an updated/modern approach !

We need a Mustang III (though it doesn't need to be badged as such) -- smaller, lighter and more economical than the current Mustang in its base model configuration but more powerful than the current model as a GT and SVT model. '65 sized, RWD , 3200 lbs.... more power, less weight-- a win for all of us!

The way it should be... Can't wait to see what the 50th anniversary will look like...
