2012 GT Auto missing programable mode ?

Did I miss something or did Ford forget to put a programable driving mode in the Auto Trans equip like the manuals have but they could do something like Sport/Normal/Eco with a extra double secret hidden "Track" mode where to activate it you need to hold the mirror while tapping the brake pedal and listening to the theme song from Rocky aka (eye of the tiger).. BUt seriously that is about the only reason i didnt go with a auto well that and no rear gear choice

Get some coffee, or whatever you use to wake up on Sunday morning, and do that post over again please, so we can all understand it.

I subscribed to the post just to see if somebody else knew what the OP was talking about. I think the OP must use NOS as creamer in his coffee.

Mmmmmm hot and steamy coffee !! LOL
thanks but all i am asking is why the Automatic Transmission cars did not get a selectable driving mode like bmw and merc have heck honda even put it on the CR-z automatic cvt model.
CRZ HONDuh
not that that car is anywhere near a GT but it is a cute sales gimick

I ask this because i had read the auto tranny cars suffered (lazy shift points geared for milage not "smile age) because of this but i cant find the article off hand sorry

so much for a early swing at veiled humor and i promise no more rocky references
ok back to the expresso machine ..

If you don't like the shift points, just get a tune. That'll take care of the "lazy" shifting.

Yes that is a option as i have a MT its not a issue for me i was just hoping that Ford would step up to the plate with it as a option at least since they included a tune in the 2011 MUSTANG GT POWER UPGRADE PACKAGE M-FR1-MGTB*
Ford power pack
since i don't have my car yet (this week maybe) i am not sure how these tunes are loaded but in a past life it was done with a laptop or hand held and you flashed the ecu not something you could do on the fly or at a stop light i guss is why i would like to see it available on the Automatic tranny cars ..

just tossing it out for thoughts i guess

You can adjust the "lazy" shifting by putting it in "hill assist" mode. It makes it hold gears longer and instead of trying to cruse at 1200 rpm at city speeds, it will instead cruse around 1800 rpm. But it does eat away at your milage, but then again, no one buys this car for milage.

So true if i wanted mileage i would have gotten a re Volt. Does the hill assist need to be turned on everytime you start the car like the trailering button on the shifter for my truck ? or is it a set and forget type thing? just curious on a sunday waiting for the race to start ..

A sport mode would be nice, but a manual mode would be even nicer..
IMO, manual mode (paddel shifters or stick) is a definite must for an automatic transmission anno 2010.

Are they removing it??? "Sport Mode" is on the 2011 GT auto...

And a modified shift pattern is available, hill assist...
