2012 Cloth to Leather conversion

Picked up a set of 2012 NTO Leather seats from Shelby garage sale a couple weeks back.. only problem, they do not come with headrests! ..and the 2011+ Mustangs have 4 headrests!!!

Luckily a member on S197forum from Philly had the rears from when he converted his 05. Thanks Alec! ..so that just left the front headrests that we needed.. if anyone has or has sat in a 2010 to early 2012 mustang they know those headrests suck and I've seen a lot of people remove or flip them because they are painful.. Well for those that don't know, MRT makes leather replacement headrests that are MUCH cushier and adjustable!!!

So.. with all the pieces lined up we decided to tackle the job last week.. After hearing all the horror stories of how much of a PITA this conversion was we decided to tackle the job in stages.. backseats first so if we screwed up, it wouldn't be as noticeable as a front seat.

We did the rear seats / headrests Wednesday night and they were pretty **** easy.. We were done in less then an hour and they looked GREAT!

..sense the rear's were so easy, we decided to tackle both front seats Friday night.

WHAT A F'N PAIN IN THE *** ! ! ! ..between those **** hog clips (15+ per seat) and the headrest mounts it took us atleast an hour per seat!

The leather laid alot better the next day once the sun got to it.. it looks factory now and she loves them!

Now the head rests. Very, very, very simple.. Literally takes 30 seconds to install. Push in the tabs on both sides, pull the old one out, and pop the MRT in.

MRT adjusted full back vs. OEM headrest.

As you can see in the pics the angle is SOOO much better then the factory headrest.. they're also ALOT thicker, more like the Raptor I test drove a few weeks back.

Hope to get better daytime pics next time I get to see her in the daylight.. works a *****!

Looks great man. I can't believe Ford is still using hog rings. I don't thing anyone else is using those rings any more.

Thanks!

The Hog rings are used in the center sections, just about anywhere you see a horizontal line.. some of them they double hog ring.

nice job. you should have thrown in aftermarket seat warmers while you were at it. $50 each for Dorman's from advance auto. can still do it..

Didn't even think about doing that.. not something I would use, but I'm sure she would want them. Oh well, next time. haha
