3in screw vs nitto NT555
3in screw vs nitto NT555
Well the curse of the Smurf begins. I came out of work today to find my tire half flat. It wasnt too bad so I figured it would be ok for the 5mi ride home. When I got home I immediately put all my stock rims and tires back on (was planning on doing it wednesday anyway since its getting colder out) and found this 3in screw that royally fcked my passenger rear tire :icon_rant: .
My question is wtf to do now. A few people have said have a good tire shop patch it, but I feel like this is basically just beating around the bush. Would a tire patch FROM THE INSIDE hold up to burnouts and stuff like that? Or should I just buy a new tire, OR upgrade to NT05's for the rears for next season ;]? If I buy a 1 new NT555 would that be ok even though the other one has around 7k on it? I dont really have to worry about this until spring cause my stock rims and tires stay on for winter, but I just want to know what to do with the tire.
Heres the screw and the hole

Yes. A patch will hold up to everything you can throw at it. Like Rich said, the hole is far enough away from the edge to not cause any problems.
