The dealer just called that my left side visor for convertible has arrived. I plan to pick it up on the way home from work this afternoon. I expect that I will be ordering the right side while I'm there just to ensure they'll match. I don't plan to install until the weekend so hopefully we'll know by then whether the harness works.

Well no, I haven't checked. But it's only power and ground so I'm sure it's easy regardless of whether there's a harness there. It would just be cleaner if the harness 11SHELBYGT500 ordered makes it plug and play.
On the 2011 there is a wire loop that is used for the sync mic. There is a hot (blue wire) and ground (black) that can be used. I found out that there is a wire harness that ford sells for this. There are three options, I ordered the one I think might work. It costs around 40.00 but it's better than splicing to me. When I get it and if it works I'll update here with the part number.

Bad news. Harness is a no go. There are a few wires missing in the base harness of the 2011 so the harness that plugs into the visors doesn't have any leads from it (no power to visors) I didn't want to just throw away 40.00 so I pulled the visor plugs off of the harness and spliced it into my 2011. It all works and it looks factory but I guess I payed 40.00 for factory plugs and wires. At least it looks factory, now that the visors plug in.
Hmmm. You mentioned before
I wonder if maybe one of the other 2 options might work?

I took it apart to use the visor plugs but the part number for the one I ordered is CR3Z17K745CA. I ordered the one that had rearview camera in the listing, there was two others listed on fordparts.com. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE HARNESS I RECEIVED DIDN'T HAVE THE SAME MIRROR CONNECTION THAT THE STOCK 2011. IT WAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MIRROR PLUG IN.

I decided that I'm not going to splice anything and ordered this:

So anyways this came in today and it's perfect. It took 10 seconds to program and the range is much better than my old remote. It's all black and matches my key perfectly. Saved me $200+ over the visors and harness.

Well the visors came in today install is a simple two wire connection. The only problem is there is a plug on them. I didn't want to ruin the plug in case I later found a factory plug from somewhere. Here are some pics of what I did. Its very simple on a 2011 splice into the loop that supplies power to the sync audio (pic) I used electric tape so not to f@ck up the connectors on the visor if I ever find a factory connection piece. It all works great garage door and security gate open and close like butter. Love it. DO NOT CUT THE LOOP IN THE PICTURE. IT SUPPLIES THE POWER TO THE SYNC AUDIO. DO NOT CUT INTO IT. JUST SPLICE INTO IT. DO NOT CUT IT.
I can't tell from the pics. Are the visors charcoal black?
Thanks. BTW I have read on other forums that there is no need for the harness because the leads w/ power are stuck up in the map light cavity. I have read you really have to dig to get to them but they are there. I will find out when I order mine.
Hey guys, just a question... I'm not terribly interested in replacing my 2011's mirrors, but I would like to get a light in there somehow for my wife...
Has anybody seen little LEDs that fit inside? Anything that doesn't require splicing?
(maybe a push button battery powered LED?)
Thanks!
