2012 Car2u visor ordered
Well the visors came in today install is a simple two wire connection. The only problem is there is a plug on them. I didn't want to ruin the plug in case I later found a factory plug from somewhere. Here are some pics of what I did. Its very simple on a 2011 cut the factory loop that would have supplied the power/ground if the visors made it on to the 2011 and simply connect the visor power/ground to the loop. I used electric tape so not to f@ck up the connectors on the visor if I ever find a factory connection piece. It all works great garage door and security gate open and close like butter. Love it.
1. Is there any difference between the 2011 and 2012 passenger side other than the lighted mirror?
2. Do you have to pull the headliner down to access the wires?
Thanks

1. Both visors can slide on the rail mount about 3 inches
2. The passenger visor has a little plug that can be removed and you can insert a couple different accessories, like sunglasses clip. The accessories are sold separately for about 12.00
3. The nice thing about the new visors is that they are flush all the way across the backside, not like the 2011 that have the metrodome covering the mirror. Now that I brought up the mirror, it's USELESS it's so small if you look directly at it, the only thing that fits in the mirror are you eyeballs.
No, you don't have to remove the headliner to wire the driver side. You might have to for the passenger side. I didn't wire up the passenger side because I really don't want my girl tempted to apply makeup in my stang.

Some questions:
Are the wires used to connect the sunvisors located in the overhead map light? If so,I suppose you had to "fish" them over to the visor mount?
Does it matter how you connect wires--hot and gound?
Any other issues of note?
Thanks

"I wanna go fast"
I just called my dealer and ordered the driver's side for my convertible. I should have it early next week. I'll post pictures when I get it. I'm hoping it isn't too different looking so I don't have to replace the right side as well.

coupe and convertible are significant
I was gonna buy these for my 11 until I saw the pictures you posted, I really like how the 11 visor has the mirror cover in the shape of the hood. I think I will keep the cool mirror cover than have just a simple flat cover.
Thanks for pics man!

I know it might be a slightly harder install, but why not just switch out the rear view mirror for one that has homelink? They can be found for under $300 with compass. I have a homelink mirror on my Toyota Sienna, and it works great. If I were not ordering a 2012 GT, I would think that I would rather have the Homlink system in the mirror than the current system in the visor.
