2012 Boss

2012 Boss
Since we lost the original thread, I'm starting it again. OK, we're all hoping for the 400bhp+ 5.0, but what else do we want from the rumoured 2012 Boss?
For me:
420 bhp V8
Brembo discs
Lowered, uprated suspension
Free-flowing exhaust (with some serious growl)
20" wheels (the Magnum look, below, would do fine)
Seats from the GT500 (with alcantara inserts)
Looks wise.......this'll do nicely

Pure handling...
Bigger brakes - 14" brembos available through FRPP now perhaps?(don't have to be brembos, just have to be a decent improvement)
18" wheels - not likely, but I could care less for the weight of larger wheels
Summer only rubber - I highly doubt it'll come with R compounds (although it isn't unheard of - Renault Clio Clubsport), but something like PS2's would be nice
Really supportive seats - believe it or not, I'm yet to sit in better seats than those in the Cobalt SS turbo
Up-rated springs/struts/roll bars/bushings
that's all I'd want to see

Seriously??? I think you have to intergrate the old with the new. I would agree that if it had smaller wheels and a higher profile tire it would need RWL's but having the 20" rims to fill our the wells they are not needed. I don't know that RWL tires on a modern car would look right.

No it's not a bad thing. For me the side wall profile is just too short to handle the RWL. It was different when the profile of the tires on cars was just about as tall as the tire was wide. Guess it's just MHO

We had a Topic Going on the RWL Tires way Back. The Pics were Lost in a Forum Crash Years Back.

I agree with TT on options... I really like the look of this car as well...

My wish list:
450hp DI 5.0 (with a nice crackling 12:1 CR for a motor that really snaps forward) with a 7.5K redline (make her a screamer like the original)
DCT, or at least the GT500's 6 cogger for a slightly more reality-based option
3.73 rear end
Borla exhaust
Chassis:
Uprated springs, shocks, bushings and geometry.
IRS in the rear, or at least a lot of lightened (AL, CF, MAG) compenents to try to rid the live axle of all that dead (unsprung) weight -- and a Watts linkage.
Lightweight wheels (see aforementioned unsprung weight comment)
Brembos all around.
Body:
Very purposeful and serious, reflecting its grown-up's performance machine character.
GT500'esque bodywork
Keep it purposeful and functional -- no goofy scoops, slats, wings or whatever (make them optional if at all).
Very modern and updated interpretations of identifying badging and stickers -- stay away from being too retro as seems to be the habit of late.
Interior:
Very purposeful and functional -- this is a serious grown-up's performance machine
Recaro seats
Real visible fonts in the instrumentation.
Alloy pedals
Price: $35K max (has to stay competitive with the Camaro, which has a lot of this stuff, specs already at $30K)

That white GT looks amazing. CDC Front Spoiler would finish it off nicely.

Also I would love to see the 69 style offset tribar emblem in the grill (maybe with plain bullitt grill?)rather than the regular pony. Other than that i think the above white one looks perfect visually.
