Does any have an automatic mustang where your tranny whines when you put it in drive or reverse. Mine sounds like a supercharger when I put it in gear. Not sure if this is the tranny pump or the torque converter? Has any else heard this noise? I can really hear it when the car is in the garage.

 

Have you checked fluid level?

 

Mine doesn't make any odd noises. Take to the dealer and have them listen to it.

 

I can't check the fluid level it is a sealed unit. No transmission dipstick.

 

There actually is a short dipstick under the car on the passenger side of the transmission. I believe it is toward the front of the transmission.

You should speak with your service manager, and have it checked at your Ford Dealer. He/she is in the best position to let you know if there is work needed, and about coverage you may have for it (warranty, recall, etc.). Let me know the outcome.

I hate all these new cars not having dipsticks it stupid

 

I hate taking my car to the dealer. They never seem to actually want to resolve the issue. I had to go back about 4 times to get my Lower Control Arms replaced. Mine had the faulty ones with the bad bushings. Took them 4 times to admit there was a problem. Can't stand dealing with them. I don't have the time to deal with that.

 

You do have options. (1) Take it to your dealer (2) Take it to another dealer (3) Drive it like it is. Saying you have a problem, and not wanting to deal with it isn't going to help a thing.
