2011 Trunk Light Troubleshooting

Hi guys,

Had to get some body work done due to someone skuffing the side of my car. Good news is the body shop did an awesome job. It looks really good. They did accidentally forget to hook the trunk light up again.

Since I'm not familiar with the electrical on this car at all where do you think I should check to see if I can fix it myself. I can drive back there but would like to avoid the 40 minute round trip drive. Maybe its just a fuse I need to switch?

Ideas?

Thanks,
E

Start at the light housing, make sure the bulb's in, not damaged, and tight. Follow the wiring back and make sure the connection is tight at the harness, keep following the wiring back and check the connections. My buddies car had the same problem and he fixed it buy doing what I told him. Could be a fuse, maybe even check there first. Did they work on the rear of the car?

Yah they did some work on the rear fender. They pulled a bunch of the trim to cover up the paint variances as much as possible. I think I'll check the fuses first. I was looking at the fuse chart in our manual. I'm not sure which fuse to look at though. Would it be the courtesy lamp one? I don't really want to pull up any trim myself. Really hoping its just a fuse.

40 min. round trip = good times in the Mustang. They most likely left it unplugged if they removed the panels. I doubt that the trunk light is the only thing on a fuse a if everything else works, I would not think it was a fuse. You might call them and ask where they might have screwed up at.
