NIHL, good luck to you. Snow in Northern MI. today. I still am impressed by the ride quality and quietness of the car. It really doesn't Bark until you get into it a bit. I have no idea what it sounds like outside when you are gettin it... I am a little disappointed with the shifting. It feels notchy to me. Having said that, it has been 20 years since I was power shifting the 89'. I am sure that in a week I will be fully at home with her. 1st gear IS short. I mostly start out in 2nd, then 4th, then 6th. I got a little sideways yesterday, and the wife was not impressed, dunno:. I had a chubby!!! It feels really odd to me how long the power range is. For whatever reason, I want to short shift. The reality is, you really need to run this car hard to feel the beast. She really comes on about 5,000 RPM, which is where I want to shift.. Time my friend... Time... (speaking to myself)

Blue Heart, I am in Pinckney. I did not pick it up at a dealer. The wife works for Ford, and we get it through a management lease program. I love the program, but it is tough to turn certain cars in. This will definitely be one of them!

We finally got a sunny day. I hope I can take some pictures later today. I am surprised more people are not giving the thumbs up. Perhaps I should slow down. I will say this, the car is BAD ***....Not just because it shXts and gets.. but because it exhibits so much class. Solid and quiet. I have never driven this BMW M3, but if the Mustang is even in the class, it should win.
I love this car, and will make sure that I represent.
Now if I could just find that traction conrtol thingy.........
I am kidding.. I jam gears, and create fears.... Back in the day I was known as stocker shocker on Telegraph.

I haven't been in Pinckney since my college days, even went into the school once. I also used to run Telegraph once in a while. I worked next to BK between 8 and 9 mile. Thank goodness I don't live down there anymore. back home where I belong!
As far as the program car goes, how many miles until you have to give it up?

They're not a pile of kaka, just obsolete and incompetent concerning refinement, driving dynamics, engine efficiency, and power when compared to 2010+(especially 2011). But they still have good looks and considerable power nonetheless, especially when compared to most of the competition they had. This is no different than New Edge vs S197.

"Solid and quiet" is a good word combo. I have been using "Smooth but powerful". I hate the boat-ness of the Challenger/300 (Same thing!). I was afraid she'd come out a bit more like that with this new engine, but I was (thankfully) wrong. The car is powerful and sleek, a silken ride. I took her up to CT, in the last 3 days since I've had her I've put on 350 miles. After taking her up there though, I heard the engine ticking a little. Something that terrified me as those were the last sounds my former vehicle made. But so be it before you seat all the seals etc. As of now she's quiet and just has a nice growl/purr that she's supposed to.
The MPG is also settling down, she was guzzling for a while and now we're evening out. I can also feel the gears settling and she's actually 'breaking in'.
BTW, the glass roof is just breathtaking. The shade I got with her was a bit different than the '10 I saw at the dealers. It's more opaque, so when you don't want sun, you really don't get any.

I actually think Ford made a huge improvement. The '05 to '09 was fine but looked like the just "quit" after they designed the tail lights. On the '10/'11 those cool sequential tail lights are sweet. I followed one Saturday night with them.

The '11 car's only complaint is its rear. Just one complaint as the entire car is the best Mustang ever built. The 05-09 you have several complaints, lack of power, cheap interior, poor suspension, no hips ect. So i rather have a car near perfection with one flaw than a car with a pleasing rear end with many flaws stock for stock.

I don't think you will need to. I am pretty sure the 2011 is comming back with the chrome pony. I am doing quite the opposite and changing the chrome pony with the dark chrome.
