So Shaun, you're the guy that got the invitation to follow your car down the line? I was just thinking about that post and wondering if it materialized... So I suppose you'll take your mother along for the tour now!

Some guys have all the luck! When's your build/tour scheduled?

my ability to follow my car down the line has been comprimised by 2012 and 2013 prototypes going down the line (I dont have clearance to be there the days they are building those)

My Mom is going down when ever they tell her to!

Man, that's a bittersweet pill to swallow.

Wow, this is really cool and a bit of Mustang history (I've seen your other thread confirming this is the first 2011 in public hands).

And how cool is your mum to drive a Mustang? A 305bhp Mustang, no less

My mum drives one of these

This is my Mom's third Mustang,
she also had a Merkur XR4Ti (you knew they as Sierra's over there in England) The XR was a turbo car here in the US as well.

Shaun might also be talking about some 2012/2013 changes in the J61 Mazda6. They are working on a mid-year refresh for those right now as well.

I only know a small amount of some of the changes for those, but they'll keep you out of the plant for something like that. Don't know if there are any Boss vehicles being built either, but I'd guess not.

Anyone else think that 2011 will be a long build year for the Mustang, until at least June 2011, so that the model years can get re-aligned?

I hope not.

Unless I can still order a '11 in the spring of 2011. I want to special order one but want to wait until this time next year.

Most of the MY refreshes around May/June of that year, so you should be able to order a 2011 until May 2011 if they hold the MY out a bit longer. Otherwise, you'll be ordering a 2012 anytime after late Jan.

Dude, my Mom is 75 years young and drives a 06 GT drop top. My Dad tells her she is too old and she always replys that the young men dont think so. Mustangs cross over all sorts of lines and there is no age limit to love and drive these cars. Its pretty amazing really that a single car can bring so many people together with a common interest.

That's why the Mustang has outsold the Camaro/Firebird most years. The Camaro has a limited age range of fans, where the Mustang has traditionally appealed to people of all ages and walks of life. For whatever reason, women also find the Mustang a lot more appealing than the Camaro.

That's because Mustang is the car that is most american and America is the country that is most humane.

Therefore the mustang is the best car ever!

Unless the woman is partial to a mullet, AC/DC tee shirt, and ripped acid washed jeans.
