2011 gt is that good!!

I got about 850 miles on it now and man is it a great car. It's fun to read all about it before you drive it and have the car not only live up to the hype but surpass it. I have owned several sports cars and the latest prior to the new gt was a first year 350z and it does not hold a candle to this car. I am known for trading in cars about every 1-2 years but I can say this one will buck that trend and I only have the 3.31 if that can really be an ONLY! Enjoy the cars folks and if you are considering one just get it and make it a gt.

The thing people forget about the 3.31 is the difference in trans gearing. The following is the rear gear you would have needed with the old 5-Speed for equivalent gearing to your 3.31. Doesnt seem under-geared to me...

Gear / Old / New / (Equivalent Rear Axle Ratio)
1st.. / 3.38 / 3.66 / (3.58)
2nd. / 1.99 / 2.43 / (4.04)
3rd.. / 1.32 / 1.69 / (4.24)
4th.. / 1.00 / 1.32 / (4.37)
5th../0.675 / 1.00 / (4.90)


It apparently only gets stronger. Livernois found their car gained 16 rwhp and 31 rwt in the first 2,000 miles. Apparently Ford has a break-in mode hiding in the PCM.

PS Your next car is called the 2012 Boss 302.

im looking at 2011 5.0s and all i can say is unless the boss is more than bolt ons im sticking with the 5.0, i have learned that after my past two cars i just want to build them the way i want. i wont buy another pre-modded GT

Don't have it yet but I have fallen in love. As for the boss, maybe 5.0 + supercharger or turbo?

At the very least I expect the 302R1 Intake Manifold to make production. The plenum is already clearanced for the production strut tower brace (which the race cars dont have) and has a spot for the Boss 302 emblem.
