Ford will not give the rebate AND the 0% financing - it is one or the other.

Our '10 GT's are between $6K and $7K off MSRP after our discount and the public rebates are deducted. Save even more if you're military, police, college student, AQHA member, or have a private mailer from Ford worth an extra rebate.

We have have TrackPacks under $28K after discount/rebate and glass roof GT Premiums for just over $30K after discount/rebate.

2010 prices

In the Northern NJ/Metro NY/LI area, it is difficult to get the dealers down in price. They just refuse to sell at cost + a reasonable profit. They are greedy! And most of the 2010 cars remaining on lots are MT. So I just said F' it! & ordered exactly what I wanted in an '11 model.

I called the dealer about the 2009 and the guy told me with rebates the car is 29k. I then told him I was Z plan and he told me the price was almost 26k. I told him that I talk a dealer down to 26k for a 2010.

He got my info and said he would call me back.I would think about ti for $20,500

Don't forget to verify the mileage with some of the leftover cars, especially if they were loaners/testers or built with less desirable options/colors...

A local dealer has a leftover premium '10 in the showroom with 5500(!) miles....

Got a call from the dealer about 20 mins ago about the 2009. She told me that the has no rebates and was really giving me a hard time about giving a zplan price. The lady told me the plan price was about 30k. I told her I already have a quote on a 2010 and a 2011 for 25k and 26k.

She pretty much told me zplan was my best price. "this is a fully loaded 34 thousand dollar car"
reply "yeah its a two year old 34k car"

That was my exchange with the local Nissan dealer when I was looking at a 2009 370Z... They can choke on it for all I care while trying to explain to Nissan North America why they still have 09s and 10s on the lot during the order window for 2011 allocations...

Just for fun, ask her what she would offer for that car if you were trading it in... That should be the starting point...

Adrian, I pulled up info on that Vapor Silver 2009 Mustang GT Premium Coupe at RE Barber Ford...

$34,310 = MSRP
$31,733 = Factory Invoice Total.
$30,445 = Z-plan per Ford.

There are no public rebates on '09's any longer, but Ford is paying $4,500 in dealer cash to the dealer to clear these out.

They probably won't do Z-plan on an '09 any longer as there is no longer any Z-plan commission from Ford to the dealer on '09 Mustangs. There's also no holdback left (flooring assistance) as the car has been sitting too long.

Therefor, for the dealer to break even on the car they'd need to sell it for $31,733 (invoice) less the $4,500 dealer cash for a total of $27,233. Selling it for any less is a true loss to that dealer. It's a a 2 year old car on the old bodystyle, so losing some money to get it gone would not be out of the question. I don't see why they wouldn't unload it for $26K (maybe even $25K?).

Just my 2 cents....
